Today I found something pretty cool, to me at least. My grandparents were always good about taking pictures of me through out the years especially during Christmas and my birthday's. I've found a couple of old pictures from past Christmas and birthday's with me and some Thundercats, G.I. Joe, Transformers etc. It's cool to see me with these nice MOC figures before I ripped them open.
My grandma showed me this tape from my 3rd birthday. I didn't think much of it until I saw myself open up some vintage Star Wars figures. The only one that got some nice camera action was a Cloud City Pilot. I was showing it right in front of the camera. Then I opened up the Darth Vader carrying case. Next I was opening up some He-Man figures and a Point Dread Talon Fighter. I really liked that vehicle when I was a kid. Hope I didn't bore to many Tankers. I just like finding pictures from years past and the joy I had opening and playing with these action figures. Watching it on vhs was alot more fun. |

But when I found that insert and to see my grandpa's handwriting, I didn't mind that I never got those figures years ago. That order form is worth more to me. |

No Birthday Memories Stick out but my 2 favorite Christmas Gift times were 1978 My Mom and Dad thrilled me with the first Star Wars collection of action figures. In 1983 (or 84) I recieved a Skystriker. I already had a bunch of Joes but this piece was just awesome. Little did they know those two Christmas days started me on a life long quest to collect these two lines of toys. I think of how much more money I would have been given something different. LOL

I have some pictures of either my 7 or 8th birthday when I got the thunder machine. I have video of the christmas I got the night raven and some other vehicles, oh I think the Tomahawk was that year too. I think I also got the 2nd Marvel Yearbook. I remember getting (TF) Jetfire one year. I had a birthday party with the Joe party favors (plates, napkins, hats), I think I also got the original 14 joe carry case that year. Yes those were good times.
I have one memory that is semi joe related. I remember being deathly ill with what I can't remember (bronchitis I believe) when I was about 4 or 5. I remember wearing my garfield pajamas and watching the weather dominator mini series my dad had taped for me. Even though I was sick as a dog I was happy watching that cartoon. Around this time my dad took a business trip to NY. He brought me back the bomb diffusal tractor from that trip. I think he may have got it at FAO too. Thanks for letting me walk down memory lane with you.
