What a waste of time. What was the point of that?
I never read anything truer than that statement on this board , ever. Last edited by STORM SHADOW; 07-02-2008 at 11:14 AM.. |

I agree with most of what you stated. I am curious if there was an event that caused you to write this or if you were simply wanting to state your beliefs? If so what was it?
Oh yeah, you also mentioned the Wraith chase variant so you`re ok in my book! (Ha, as if that was your objective!) Last edited by X-factorz; 07-02-2008 at 11:26 AM.. |

I buy what I want and no more, so 'ethics' don't even come into it. If I wanted 100 of one figure I'd get it. As it happens I don't, but if I did, a sense of 'ethics' wouldn't stop me as I don't think the concept can be applied to something as trivial as toy collecting.

since I'm 12 I'm cool,sweet! I'm not a geek even tho my friends think I am.
13. I do my best not to hate on the more socially inept adherents of our hobby. If you are over 13 and you collect toys, YOU ARE NOT COOL, so don't put on airs. If you are over 25 (like moi), you ARE REALLY NOT COOL, so definitely don't put on airs. Even if you work out, have a six-pack, have a hot girlfriend, make six figures, and drive an expensive car, YOU ARE STILL A GEEK. So be humble and empathic.

I don't get the 'geek' statement. Why do you have to be a 'geek' if you collect G. I. Joe while if you, as others pointed out, collect sports memorabilia you are not generally looked down upon?

You know I would say that these are pretty good ethics to follow. However to me ethics are like rights they are made up and suit the ones who make the rules.

yeah, I don't think I'm a geek because I collect toys, their just pieces of plastic. I'm a geek because I'm a die hard sci-fi fan, i read comic books, I play many different types of video games (seriously, I have over 150 xbox games and like 30 360 games) and many other things, that's what makes me a geek. And people aren't geeks if they are collecting these for nostalgia.

Guys it`s ok to embrace your inner geek. Go ahead, say hello to him, give him a big hug and tell him how much you enjoy his company. Everybody here is a geek in some way and there is nothing wrong with that. We are not alone though, a prime example was the release of The Sex and The City movie that was released not too long ago. Do you realize how many hot ass women across the nation got dressed up and had parties to go see that movie? Geeks are everywhere basketball players, bodybuilders, cheerleaders, sports fans, Nascar fans, book worms, fashion models the list can go on and on. Don`t sweat the labels guys because it is only about what makes you happy not what somebody else thinks of what makes you happy.
