okay, so I'm sure some of you folks have ordered from this seller on ebay before. he has an item or two I am interested in, for a decent deal, but being as I have not bought anything overseas like that before I just wanted to make sure it would be a safe transaction. So if you guys could share any dealings you've had with this seller it'd be appreciated. thanks!

I have purchased from mine abut 3-4 times and each have gone smoothly. Most recently I got 3 Rebel Fleet Troopers before he jacked the price to $14.99 each.
Since he deals in factory errors, some people have gotten wonky stuff (two left feet, Hoth Leia w/o eyebrows for example). All of mine have been solid with no obvious errors. I heard he will replace something if it is damaged, so he sounds easy to work with. Shipping take about 3-4 weeks, which is average for overseas. Only one time did mine get hung up in customs in China. He packages well. You may have to sign for it when it arrives. I have had to. I'm thinking of ordering a couple of the Resurgence BP Luke to have some extras. He probably won't come single carded and he's my favorite ANH Luke. Since he sells in such mass quantities (200 - 300 per figure), probably the largest China seller of SW figures, and since Hasbro has turned a blind eye to his activities, I am convinced he is a Hasbro insider selling with their consent. Overall, I feel comfortable buying from him. |

I've made several purchases through him and my clone troopers came through the mail just fine and a lot quicker than expected. Sometimes a torso won't be quite sealed shut or some flashing will need to be trimmed but I can live with that. And I think that's were his supply comes from, the "whoops, oh well..." scrap bin.

I've bought from him several times. I've never had any problems and the stuff usually shows up pretty fast considering where it's shipped from. ws_toys is the same way. Never had any problems with either of them.

Only problem I had with WS_Toys was I bought a lot of 5 Cobra Bazooka Troopers and the hips were really loose. So loose they couldn't stand. I used the superglue trick and they're good as new now. And one helmet had a tear in the front that I glued also.

Okay, so new concern. I've found several auctions online for some great figures I would like to get, whether it be Indiana Jones Temple of Doom figures or SW, but noticed on some of the auctions that it says the buyer will be responsible for paying any import fees or duty taxes. I wasn't sure if that would be the case so I sent an email to USPS about it and received a message today from that that indicated there would be a customs duty/tax of $5.65 per item that I bought.
So that really makes me hesitant to buy anything because those fees are astronomical! For all of you that have bought from the Chinese sellers, be they Tunghori or anyone else, have you guys had to pay these fees?

I have only bought from Tung and WS_Toys. The shipping price in the listing is what is charged. If they want to charge you more, stay away. It's not worth it, considering China sellers are selling "rejects."

Yeah, the customs carry over thing is BS. Most of the decent sellers in China seem to know to work around that or include in your shipping. Stick with the sellers already mentioned above and you'll be fine.

And actually, many of these "hes" are actually shes so if you try to contact them, just a heads up that you may want to use gender neutral words. They typically don't take any offense but still...

I've never had to pay any customs expenses from overseas sellers. They usually send as a gift. You can request they do that if you're worried about fees.
