You can take off G.I. Joe and Marvel Universe on the 3 3/4-inch list as they look too big with the rest of the Star Wars sized 3 3/4 stuff. The problem is that everyone keeps calling Joes 3 3/4-inch when in fact it is 4-inch scale. Put the most recent Playmates Star Trek or Terminator stuff side-by-side with the Modern Era G.I. Joe figures and they look like children and are out of scale. Look at the difference in the DC Infinite Heroes stuff next to the Marvel Universe stuff. You could actually put most of the stuff not made by Hasbro in the 3 3/4-inch scale and all Hasbro stuff (outside of Transformers and Star Wars) in the 4-inch scale.
I am just saying that by continuing to call the modern era G.I. Joe stuff 3 3/4-inch is wrong in that they are 4-inch. If the modern era of most new toys are 4-inch, why are some of the makers making 3 3/4-inch stuff last generation. The more we call this generations 4-inch stuff by the 3 3/4-inch scale, the clueless manufactures will make 3 3/4-inch stuff and they will not be compatible. Marvel Universe is intended to be "Larger than life" according to Hasbro, which is not a line of thought I buy into but is something that needs to be mentioned when talking about them. Also there are scale issues within the line itself. Cable is a great example as well as the different Spider-Man's within the line. If anything there is no consencious of the scale within the line itself. As for Trek ect looking like children, no, Granted they are short, but they just look short. In actuallity they are 3.5 inch themselves and not 3 & 3/4 inch. Not a major difference but noticeable. There are also tons of ways to deal with this. |

I wan't aware there were any 1:18 LotR figures. It was ToyBiz's 6" line and the Armies of Middle Earth miniature stuff, plus the Minimates.
Whoever it is that has the license currently has announced a 1:18 line, but that's all I've seen/heard about for the scale. |

yeah, I figure I'd ask it in this thread and not start a new one as to avoid the inevitable, "no one uses the search button" comments even if the thread subject has nothing to do with what they magically want you to be searching for. that and the search tool sucks sometimes. |

Don't know the company, but I doubt they're gonna be anywhere as good as the ToyBiz line, but there you have it. |

Put Joes and MU next to DCIH and they look like giants. They don't mix well at all together. Call it what you like but they look like shit next to each other.
