So I just picked up my first modern Transformer I am totally hooked. Its sweet as all heck. Its Dirge and got me all pumped to collect a couple more of these.
I am hoping to find information on collecting modern era transformers that resemble there vintage counterpart. I got Dirge the plane if that helps. Any links or lists would be really help full. Thanks in advance!

^ Totally. I've only been causally collecting TFs for the last decade and I've spent an incredible amount of cash on them.
I'd recommend checking out seibertron.com's photo galleries and of course TFW2005 just to see what's out there. |

Two great sites for TFs are...
www.seibertron.com www.tfu.info I'm not as big a fan of Seibertron, its a good referance site but the boards can be a bit of a drama haven, but there are some great pictures. TFU has no forum but is as simple a set up as you can want. And the biggest issues with the G1 homages is one the line changes names, Classics Universe 2.0, Generations etc. and some are damn hard to get...Ratchet...Cosmos...Wheelie...Warpath...Winch arger (was only sold outside the US), are damn near impossible. And some of the recent figures Powerglide, the new Warpath, Thundercracker, Wheeljack, Scourge, Kup, Wreck Gar, Perceptor have all been spotty to find at best. BUT its a great line all around. |

Cool guys, I am starting with the Seekers first and then I am going to move over to the classic cars, it does seem awfully expensive line to collect.
Thanks allot guys!

Ive picked up quite a few early TFs from Car boot sales in England. The accessories are the dearest parts and some of the early figures came with a lot.
Two sites I find helpful for instructions and parts identifying are Botch's Transformers Box Art Archive and Transformers-Toys-Action Figures-Store-Pictures Id read up well, before purchasing as there are lots of high quality rip offs and the re-releases that sellers will try to claim are originals. |
