I see kup here in places. The wave 1 reveal the shield stuff with Jazz I can scoop up here for $5.70 on clearance right now...at least until saturday. I just don't collect transformers. I don't know enough to know what to get either. if there is a distribution problem with kup and Jazz (is it all the reveal the shields?) I could pick some up for some tankers... I just need MU wave 13, the giant size x-men variant and regular pack, and...well everything on my want list
you also have to keep in mind regional economies and such. I bet the south isn't selling a lot of toys right now. I only pick up some of the classic characters if I think they are good such as wreck Gar and Kup. I saw Scourge, but I felt it was too different than his classic look so I passed. If I ever saw Jazz or Wheeljax I would pick them up. I wish they would do a classic looking bumble bee some day. |

I suppose there are not a lot of Transformer collectors in your area. I see the HTF ones in my area, but they never last very long. It's all pegwarmers for long stretches with the occasional glimpse of some good ones.

I was thinking they haven't done a VW Bug version the last few years. Then again, I don't really follow Transformers that closely. I got back into them and started cherry picking when I picked up the US MP Starscream. I keep my eye out for anything that looks cool, but I definitely don't want to go hard core on them. 1) I don't know about or care for any of the non-classic characters and 2) I collect other things and I simply wouldn't have it in the toy budget to get more.

They can't do a VW bug anymore.VW doesn't want their car asscoatied with war(you know, the whole WW2 thing).Thats why we've been getting a hatchback looking car.

I'm just worried I'm not going to have a chance at Wheeljack, Thundercracker, and Warpath. Thats all I really want since DOM looks terrible.

Here's what I see:
Thor: Totally wasted line, it has a ton of potential and now it is boring. Could be so great, but will never be. Iron Man: IF the line would arrive in stores with some regularity this could be a knock out line. As it stands Comic wave 2 and 3 just arrived finally here, although I would see them sparaticly in other areas when I was on trips, but the vast abundance of Mark's III, IV, V, and VI are beyond belief. Marvel Universe-Would be a huge seller, if you could find it. Everywhere I go I see pegs and pegs of "Hot sellers" like Iron Man, Spidey, ect and nothing remotely new. The line is great but also extreamely infurating. GI Joe POC-While some of the designs are solid, the repition of characters gets very annoying. It seems that I am not alone in this opinion as it does take a long while for even "popular" figures to sell through. Star Wars-Has similar problems as Joe, but in that they are overloaded by the white clones and sandtroopers that just sit. Clone Wars has an amazing abundance of the same characters as well. The stuff that interests me there (rarely) is near impossible to find though. Transformers-I only periodicly collect TF's but many of the ones mentioned (Kup, Wreckgar, ect) were of big interest to me, that is until I realized looking for them was futile. I suppose we will have to wait for the exact numbers of what is happening now, but I have a feeling that this quarter's report is going to be vastly different from the last. |

Hasbro claims they need an overabundance of "Hot Sellers" to support the line, but they're usually the ones choking the pegs. Duke, Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, Destro, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine...I could go into any store in my area and leave with that checklist complete. And going through online retailers is just as maddening. If I DO decide to pay what is basically their scalper prices, I don't get to. Because almost everything I want says: PREORDER-SOLD OUT... |
