I have a chance to get a Joe scale F-15 Eagle for 65$ shipped, its 20x14 inches, just a bit shorter than the XP-14F, question is, do I do it? I dont know what the engines look like? Is it the same F-15 that is sold in Walmart with the cheapie Joes? Anyone have a clue, lmk.
thanks Skipper |

If it's AMT/ERTL...
It's NOT joe scale. it's most likely a 1:32 scale, the seat would hold a pilot about 2 1/2" tall... |

I used to do model airplanes, i did a 1:32 F-16 for a friend. It was bigger than joe scale planes, but the cockpit, being realistically scaled, would never hold a Joe. Take a look at the dimensions on a BBi F-16 or F-14. Those things are monsterous, and you still have to squeeze a Joe in there, since they are actual 1:18 scale. If you did the math, you will see that some ARAH joes are a tad bigger than 1:18, and modern era Joes are way bigger...
But, a picture is worth a thousand words, It's hard to see it in your head... |

No I hear what you are saying, I just want to make sure it looks decent next to a Joe, even an ARAH Joe, If the plane is too toyish then Im out.

They would look very strange with the Joes. Almost like those go cart planes at the Air Show if you were to put Joes in them.
As far as scale, the Skystriker is about 1:25th scale and 1:32 scale is even smaller. Here is an example of a true 1:18 4-inch Joe scale plane:

These are 1/40 scale(images from Ertl Force One Series). Personally, I would buy it, are you getting the Strike Eagle or the metal one? There's also an A-10.

Its the metal colored one in the second pic, ever seen one of these Shin? Will an ARAH Joe fit? Its 20x14, a bit smaller than the skystriker but it seems like it would fit into the Joeverse.

The pics that I got show that the cockpit is about 4 inches long, the seat is about halfway, there is an opening after the seat for the legs of any Joe to fit in there. The seat is at a 90 degree angle. Im sure the canopy is overbowed to compensate for a seated figure. It is by no means to scale. But...it looks like ARAH ACE would fit, I just dont know. The retractable landing gear is cool, but there is this thick fin that is in the middle of the belly between the nose landing gear and the two landing gear toward the rear. Not ideal but not a deal breaker either. The jet is molded in a stainless steel glinty plastic, but the underside is an off white, which looks much cooler. All missiles are present. I would say its a bit bigger than the X-30 Conquest but not by much.
