I decided to start this thread so the 3 3/4 thread doesn't get jacked up talking about this stuff.
Alot of people hate on the Power Of The Force stuff, and sure it's not the quality we know today, but I always thought it produced some cool stuff...even if some of it was a little "off". Like the Tattooine Luke Skywalker looking more like He-Man lol. My friend has a crapload of them MOC and I just bought the Boba and Bossk...still waiting for him to dig me out the Boba Fett Vs. IG-88 set--anyway I think they're pretty cool for what they are. Last thing, anyone into the newer Gentle Giant 12" vintage looking figures? I'm debating on a Vader but that seems like alot of coin for one! |

Almost all my POTF stuff (and I've got all of it...) is put away in tubs. The figures that fit in with the more modern style still have a place-but that's mostly just a few aliens and what not. Some of it does still hold up really well- some (a la monkey-face Leia) were terrible even for back then.
And I considered the 12in Death Squad Commander- but I know I'll just end up packing it away and I don't want to get involved in another gimmicky line that has no place in my collection (plus gentle giant is on my no-buy list for their pathetic and disgusting management of the Clone Commanders bust distribution-I will NEVER buy another product of theirs after that) ((just a little fan/collector ranting there for you)) |

No... nothing they did that failed on the part of people buying. They did an exclusive for the Clone Commander busts a few years ago. I was heavily into collecting those things and was really looking forward to those ones being made. When they finally did announce them it was done as a world tour exclusive. One clone Commander (i.e Cody, Gree, Neyo...etc...) bust would be available at each of several major SDCC-like events around the world. And for people that could not attend each of these events there was a raffle or something available through their website that you could buy a way into and then have a chance at purchasing all of them together-just really an f'd up thing to do (IMO) for a pretty obvious fan-favorite collector item(s) I don't mind exclusives and promo pieces to a point-(even hasbro puts their exclusives up after SDCC to give non-attendees a shot) But the Clone Commanders issue just left me so dang pissed off at GG that I swore them off for good. My own personal boycott I suppose.

POTF2 were my childhood favorites growing up. I had so many 3-P0s because I would loose the legs. My holy grail was Greedo, which I found in a TRU out of state which was great. My grandmother bought me all the best ships (The Falcon, Vader's TIE, Luke's X-Wing, SlaveI, the Landspeeder). In fact, I still utilize my POTF2 Admiral Piett as the character, seeing as he has never received an update after that initial figure.
