Not sure if I should post in this section, but since I'm not selling anything yet...
I had posted a thread about Marvel Legends and my plans to sell them a while back that happily led to a Tanker on this very board whom bought them all off me for a great price (way better then I ever thought I'd get). Anyway, once again due to unfortunate reasons involving room and funds I'm here having to go through old toys I have collected over the years yet again. My concern is mainly in trying to move the stuff I plan to sell off not as individual figures/toys, but as lots if possible, but looking at things on places like ebay makes it difficult to guage what I should even price the lots as. How does one even set a price that seems reasonable let alone still making you at least some kind of profit to make selling the stuff jusified? I don't know how many people have used ebay to sell stuff before. I know I have not really used them outside of buying things myself. Any advice on things is appreciated. Of the things I have been planning to put up for sale... Transformers- Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise, Alternators, and the first movie and ROFT lots G.I.Joe- Sigma 6 and some 25th Anniversary stuff Resident Evil- Toy Biz all MOC as well as loose versions and Palisades sets Masters of the Universe 200X Various video games figures- Crash Bandicoot, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy (figures from Bandai for both FF7 and FF8), Sonic the Hedgehog (Resaurus versions) Metal Gear Solid from McFarlane Toys, all MOC SOTA Street Fighter figures Star Trek figures (basically First Contact related) TMNT- 2003 animated series, Fast Forward series, and 2007 movie X-Men Evolution figures I'm even possibly thinking of selling a number of DC Universe Classics stuff... Anyway, again, any help is appreciated on figuring out maybe a way to best figure out how to sell things off. |

Figure out how much each figure is worth individually. Then sort them into higher priced, must have figures, and the lower priced figures that probably won't sell, or wouldn't be worth the time to sell.
Then you take a few figures that will sell well, and put them in a lot with figures that wouldn't. Then you ask for a slightly discounted price for the lot, so that each individual figure is priced less than if someone bought them individually. And you put a stipulation that this sale is for the lots only, as is. eg: You have ten Joes. Two are rare and worth $20 each, the rest are pretty much useless at about $5 each. You take the two that are worth the most, and add four of the other joes each. So you have two lots of five figures. Each lot has a really hard to find or higher priced figure. Individually, the ten joes would net you $80 if you manage to sell them all. But it's a pain in the ass, so you sell the two lots for $35 each. That way you are not left with figures no one wants. That's what I normally do. At worst, you'll have to box up two packages, and one trip to the post office if both lots sell around the same time. Last edited by pud333; 04-14-2011 at 09:43 PM.. |

Sounds like you need to sell your stuff quick so you should definitely undercut any other prices you find on eBay for the same item by about 15-20%. You should also use Buy It Now with the Best Offer option with a short listing time. Don't underestimate what people are willing to pay for a lot though. They will possibly save a lot of money on shipping costs and so the lots can be quite attractive to them. Take into account what their possible shipping costs would have been buying seperate when undercutting the other prices.
