Just found this website from a UK toy store which closed down in the late eighties. Theres pics of the interior of the shop and the toy racks. Check out the Transformers, he-Man and Mask. No Joes though :(

WOW.. that's awesome. I would have fell over in shock if we had a toy store like that when I was a kid.

Thanks for sharing! Those are some great images. Takes me back to the days of ToysRUs back in the early 80's. I remember back in 84-85 when they had one whole isle full - one side GI JOE and the other side Transformers. They had every single Autobot car from the first and second series there for sale as well as all 6 Decepticon jets and a opened case of Optimus Prime figures that they just put those orange price stickers on. In fact, I think they had every single transformer available for the first two series as well as all the joes released during that year along with all the vehicles. I have never seen ToysRUs again since then with such a huge inventory for sale.
Does anyone else here remember when they used to have the GI JOE aircraft carrier up on display, above the top shelves? Those were great memories! |

I miss these days.
Now, we get destroyed Wal-Mart and Target aisles and 80% of the shit in the aisles is crap. I'd go back in time just to take a PICTURE. Not even to buy anything. |
