That's how I read it.
International G.I. Joe Collectors' Convention - GIJoeCon 2011! Quote:
Question: Do you have to get a registered attendee package to buy the extra souvenir exclusives, or will they also be for sale to general admission?
Answer: The souvenir exclusives are produced in limited numbers and will be sold to registered attendees first. If any are left over, these will be available to general admission until sold out. |

$185 for the bagged set and in the FAQ it says they're offered to people at the convention first. If there are any left (I'm sure there will be), then they will be offered for general sale. That won't be until after the convention though. I guess I should get a boxed set if I want these figures.

Ah, FAQ. Didn't see they had one.

I think that the FAQ is referring to the other exclusives. In the brochure it says the first 325 registered will get a chance to order 1 extra, bagged set. It's under the "additional package details" at the top of page 3.

This would be so much easier if I wanted a whole set. -_- I'll just throw this out there: anyone getting one boxed and one bagged ($16/figure), I'll pay the boxed rate ($20/figure) for the ones I want, plus an extra $20 on top of that for your trouble.
Even if none of you have any intention on getting two sets for yourselves, I'd like opinions on whether you think my offer is fair. I be curious, yo. |

What figures did you want? Just the Joes and 1 of each Cobra?

Well, after seeing the odd monochrome and de-jacketed Cover Girl/Sparta, it looks like just Leatherneck, de Aco, TV, Trooper, and (maybe) Claymore. I dunno whether to feel relieved at not being tempted to blow cash on the full set, or bummed that the figures aren't floating my boat. Yikes.

But I will be needing two complete sets myself from the figures I seeing. For some reason, I'm not understanding the underwhelmed sense some folks are getting. Ah well. |

Well, I'll start with the good. The PP figs and de Aco are spot on. Wet Suit looks like a really fantastic generic military figure aside from the oversized hat. Moving on to the mediocre, while the figure is nice, it's not really very Wet Suit. Leatherneck looks okay aside from a decidedly non-version-specific camo coloration. The parts selection for Dial Tone looks a lot better than what was used for the club figure, which really only makes me ask why didn't they just use that for the club figure. Mainframe's head just looks really goofy still... not their fault, but still there. And Sparta looks like a lazy custom. Not much more I can say about that one.
I get what they did with the color schemes, and it looks fine. I'm just not really feeling any of the Joes for various reasons outlined above. Some I would probably buy at retail and fiddle with em, but at the premium con prices I'm not all that excited. |

It's almost spot-on to his comic appearance in Special Missions #8, if that makes you feel any better. Well, okay, not spot-on, but it's close. I was going to do a similar custom for him.
