No mail? I wonder if FedEx will deliver my package tomorrow. Did they stop delivering on Saturdays? My package said "on truck for delivery" after midnight on Saturday, but then in the description it said "Delivery next business day." I thought they delivered on Saturdays. I've received packages from them on Saturdays before.
No work for me tomorrow. That's 1 school day to make-up and it's not winter yet. We had 3 pre-winter cancellations last year (power outages due to Irene and then a Halloween snow storm), but none in the winter.

Well, I have two days off of work. I would happily trade those days for the power NOT going out. That being said, well, I'm going to cook as many hearty stew type things that will keep in my cooler (I have frozen roughly 14 bajillion gallons of bottled water over the past 48 hours) and that me and Mrs. Irid can live off of for a couple of days if need be. There is also plenty of wine.

So, I guess I'm going to have to put out a bounty on MP-Prime before long. Seems I can't trust my TRU.com preorder to hold. I've missed out on all four that have [randomly] shown up at the "local" TRU now.
Good luck with the Winter Hurricane. It's just now dropped into the sixties around here. There's a productivity joke in there somewhere, I'm sure of it. Quote:

And now for something completely different. GDO Swerve: The mold is nifty enough, and the colors work as a G1 homage. The head looks old and angry. Thoroughly mediocre. Springer: DAT GREEN! Seriously, the neon bugs me. As does the movieverse design. I initially mistransformed the feet and was wondering why the hell he was so short. I love helicopters in general but hate the fiddly kibble that usually comes along with them. The head looks dead-on. Not my favorite, but I'm glad I picked it up. Cliffjumper: Holy engineering Batman. I absolutely LOVE how they took the car shell bits and made them fold over to create smooth contiguous limbs. Not really digging the angular Prime styling, but the rest is awesome. Well, aside from the forearm kibble. And the slightly fat-looking head-neck (which is still light years better than the goofy Prime head). Wheelie: Everyone hates Wheelie. He was annoying in the movie and I'm not even sure if the 1986 figure qualifies as a "toy." He looks nothing like Jazz and the whole concept just reeks of cheap repaint. Except... it works. Don't extend the legs, leave the rear of the car in front as the feet, cheat by not extending the doors (which looks ridiculous from the side) and you've got a stubby little orange robot with a baseball cap and a slingshot. Color me impressed. And every one of these repaint-o-ramas is better than FoC Shockwave. Which is kind of depressing. |

They must not be delivering today because the tracking says the same thing. Oh well. No FoC Combaticons for me until tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'm pretty sure that the entire Northeast is planning on being closed for the longer part of the week while locals search for horsemen in the skies.
As for MP-Prime, a store in OK got in a huge shipment of thirty. So there's hope. But I also know Lexington TRU. Plus, I'm reallly not happy about the twenty dollar price hike. I've been campaiging for people to speak up to Hasbro about letting online retailers tackle the MP-line and give TRU the finger only to meet a lot of "boo to escalpers like BBTS" nonsense. But those same people are cool with TRU cancelling online preorders, failing to meet shipping dates and/or hiking the price simply because "well, the list price is $149.99 and they're only selling it for [X]..." |

Hope Fogger and Hellion are doin' alright. Delaware was mercifully spared much of the worst of the storm, and our power only flickered a couple of times.

Likewise. The left hook that brought the thing back towards South Jersey kept hooking and my area missed the worst of the wind and rain (I'm inland just northeast of Philly). A bunch of trees down here but no local flooding. Had a few power flickers but that was it... pretty amazing considering the sheer number of outages. It got interesting at work... not even 20 minutes after my supervisor left he texted me and said he was bringing his wife and baby in because they had a tree fall against the house. Thankfully no major damage, but they were spooked and I don't blame them one bit. I ended up doing the 12-hour shift I had expected, but I had company so it wasn't so bad.

The more I hear Chris Christie speak, the more I think he'd be an awesome President.
And that's in no way meant to open a debate on politics. That out of the way, good to know everyone's alive. I shipped my BBTS loot today, MP-Lambor, two Grindrods from the 3rd Party Throttlebots and a talking Mr. Hanky, the Christmas Poop. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 10-31-2012 at 04:12 AM.. |
