I hate vinegar too but I can still eat pickles. White Castle Cheese Burger, no onions but with the pickle... Awesome.
Chik-fil-a with the two pickle chips... good stuff. |

We stopped having to eat meat raw when the first caveman figured out fire, I don't understand why some people want to go back.
Here, Warren Ellis says it better than I could: Quote:

Medium Rare is the only way to taste the meat and not have it turn to carbon on you. I mean, if you like the taste of carbon... go for it. But meat was meant to be eaten medium rare.
Irid: White Castle is awesome. Least up until 3:00 am when apparently one of the last great 24 hour havens now closes. |

I'm fond of medium well myself. And I would kill for a peppercorn steak right now.
White Castle never really got a foothold around here, despite the object of Harold and Kumar's desire being one town over from where I grew up. I guess it's because you can't throw a cat without hitting a Wawa, 24 hour diner, or both. |

I generally go medium rare.
But I would also say that you've never quite experienced beef the way the gods meant it until you've had carpaccio at a really good Italian restaurant.

How long have we known about Dial-Tone being released now? A year, give or take? And you know, the Club promises a figure for everyone that signs in for full membership. If these people had had half a brain and signed up, I don't know, eight months ago this whole bit of, "Oh no! How will I get a Dial-tone now?" wouldn't be an issue. GIJCC simply would've placed a larger order and all would be good.
Why won't people take responsibility for their own procrastination and stupidity? I mean, really... people need to be punched in the head more often. Or have a newspaper rolled up on them... something. |

Well, to a certain point, I can relate. I really, REALLY did not want to become a paying member of the club for various reasons. And history suggests that exclusives would still be available for those that didn't want to join for whatever reason. However, I weighed it all out and decided to go with the sure route. I'm glad I did, even though I feel a bit dirty. $42 is a lot to pay for a figure no matter how you slice it. (And on a side note... I always loved the arguments club groupies make for joining... about how you you don't just get a figure for the price, you get a year of the magazine too! I got my first one a few weeks ago, and um... yeah. Not exactly something I'd call a selling point.)
As for the whole issue about doing another run, I say go for it. I couldn't give two shits about exclusivity. If the club thinks it can make money off of another run, do it. Club gets money, more people get figure. Everyone wins except for the elitists who took a prestige hit because their exclusive isn't quite so exclusive any more. And on a side note, I think the above food conversation had an influence on my girlfriend. After a bit of gaming at a local store's game night, she wanted dinner, decided on Texas Roadhouse, and declared she was buying. So... thanks for the steak, guys. |

I got the Con set along with the free Dial-Tone with my membership. I got both Slaughters last year with the free level membership. I feel I've gotten my use out of it. A friend going to the Con is going to try to get me some/all of the exclusives, too. Obviously, my membership has nothing to do with that. I'm still happy with the Club overall though.
I ended up canceling my two extra Steel Brigade troopers. I think I'm just going with 1 of each figure now. The only exception may be the Techno-Vipers depending on the whole preorder situation (i.e. if singles are available and how much they want for them). |
