well, I can see that, but really I think my problem is build quality. They are just getting cheap and awkward. Proportions are out of whack, and it feels like you're going to break them just posing them. I really liked the Binaltech metal, high grade construction. Comparing $50 to $10 is not fair, I know, but still it's just an unfair world I guess.
As for the classics, I liked the sizing of the 1st round deluxes. The 2nd round (Universe 2.0) seemed out of scale. Sunstreaker/Sideswipe were nice, but they towered over the previous wave. Prowl/BS/SS have the turtleneck thing going on. Hound is awesome, but like the Lambo twins are hueg, he's tiny. And Ironhide is just terrible all around. Doesn't even transform right. That said, they're okay for $10... but not the $16 most places were asking for a Ratchet preorder. If anyone happens to have one or can get one on the cheap, I'm interested, seeing as it looks like they're on another break and no more will come out for a bit. |

Ah, I liked the Classics Prowl. Bumblebee's pretty good too, and the Japanese Megatron is the perfect Alt Supplement. Cyclonus would've been for the Alts too if only he'd been taller. I think it was the fact that Classics Ironhide's side windows are all broken up by the transformation sequence that ruined him for me. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 06-26-2009 at 08:41 PM.. |

Classics Bumble Bee works so well with the Alts, Binaltechs in robot mode. I wish I'd picked up a Cliffjumper.
And you realize this "spam" thread has OVER 41 THOUSAND VIEWS!!! How cool is that?

Well it's a bit sad here, we're going to be moving (which is not the sad part, that's the happy part) so I'm packing up my collection. I got a start on Joes last night. It's going to be so strange w/o them on the shelf for a while. The interesting thing is that having them on display is one thing, but as I'm picking each Joe up to put them back on their card, I'm thinking "Damn this guy's cool!" or "I never noticed that detail there...kick ass!" so it's pretty good. In our new place I hope to have a "hobby room" for modeling and display purposes. I miss airbrushing, can't do that here. My idea for display of Joes is a tabletop diorama instead of shelves. We'll see how space goes, but in action is more fun than lined up on a wall. Long term plans. Well, anyway, it'd be nice to have the 7 pack orders locked in before the madness of moving and the interruption of internet services and all that.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks Classics BB fits better with his own kind than the Alts? It think he looks a bit TOO small next to the 1:24 stuff. What I really wanted was for VW not to be douchenozzles about licensing the new Beetle. "We don't want to be associated with war machines" indeed. |

That and he doesn't fit together right in bot mode. Silly hunchbacked emobot.

Admittedly, I'm not even concerned about Bumblebee being a Beetle. As it is though, I do use the Classics version with my Alts. He's just a pedal car or powerwheels or something in alt mode. I just wish he'd come with a gun.
I feel your pain Kaisugi. Having opted to take this promotion, I'll be back on second shift and out on the floor again. Which pretty much means that from 3:30 pm till 3:30 am I'll be without a computer. I can see the preorders going up this coming Tuesday at around 5:30 as my shift [officially] starts. On the plus side, once that's out of the way, I'll be free to check Targets and KMarts as they open in the mornings. And there are three Wal-Marts to stalk on my way home from work in the morning. Not seeing much of my girlfriend outside of the weekends will suck though. Well for me anyway, she'll see it as a vacation as I think I tend to annoy her. Heh... |

I was just dropping in to not talk about the Cobra Island 7-packs, but I'm lost. I'm sorry but I don't speak Transformese and have no idea what you all are talking about.
...that Alley Viper is helacool.

... ... Ok, that sounded really wrong. But in any case, there's prolly plenty of guns that would work. His classics version doesn't bug me at all, but if they had made an Alt, I think Beetle woulda been mandatory. HasTak apparently agreed, which is why the current face of the franchise got passed over for the best damn TF line ever. =/ Quote:
