LAST POLL’S WINNER(S)
Rollbar navigates hostile terrain to the finish! LAST POLL’S DROPOUT(S) NEWEST POLL’S MEMBER(S) Rampage. DROP ZONE Joe Canuck needs 0, Red Jackal needs 1-2 votes. NEW REVISED RULES 1) VOTES: Vote for one character in the poll. In case of a tie, winners will be listed alphabetically. 2) NOMINATIONS: Post 2 nominations per poll, only one per character. Characters with the most nominations will replace those who win or drop from the poll. 3) ELIGIBILTY: To be eligible, characters must meet the following criteria below: a. With notable exceptions, characters must have originated in officially licensed G.I. Joe media, including domestic or international toy lines, animation, comic books, file cards, films, novels, short stories, or digital books from Kindle Worlds. b. Characters that are not human or humanoid are ineligible. Some ineligible examples include protoplasmic blobs, synthoids in non-human form, man-eating flytraps and other plants, Timber, Junkyard, Polly and other animals. c. Multiple versions of an original character are ineligible. Some ineligible examples are Tiger Force Duke, ROC Rip Cord, Renegades Tunnel Rat, Viper (v4), etc. On the other hand, some versions of troopers, however similar, will be considered as separate characters, such as officers or leaders (Alley Viper Officer, Crimson Guard Squad Leader, Red Ninja Leader, etc.), troopers from different units (Night Stalkers Shock Troops, Night Watch, Python Patrol, Crimson Strike Team, etc.), improved or enhanced troopers (Alley Viper II, BAT versions II through V, Inferno BAT, etc.), and troopers with particular distinctions (Bazooka Trooper, Arctic HISS Driver, MARS Industries Weapons Officer, Viper Guard, Crimson Neo-Viper, etc.). d. Characters that have appeared in G.I. Joe media but originated in Transformers, MASK, Street Fighter, Indiana Jones and other brands—regardless of any affiliation they may have with G.I. Joe characters within their respective universes—are ineligible with a few notable exceptions: Sgt. Slaughter of course is a special exception given that this character left the WWF to become a G.I. Joe and in many ways has become virtually synonymous with the G.I. Joe brand. Roddy Piper is another notable exception. Though not as prominent or popular as Slaughter, Piper followed a similar path in becoming an Iron Grenadier and is thus eligible. Characters—such as Stealth B.A.T. and Construction B.A.T.—that did not originate outside of G.I. Joe but were created within a G.I. Joe crossover series are also eligible as G.I. Joe characters. As a result of majority decision, Matt Trakker, Marissa Faireborn, Bullet Man, and Action Man are also eligible exceptions. e. Characters based on unproduced prototypes, unlicensed customs, unpublished sketches or narratives, and published retractions are ineligible. Some ineligible examples are Kaos Crew, Chef, Timbit and other pre-2009 Canadian Convention figures, Dave Dorman’s Dreadnok, and Rocky Balboa. f. Characters from parallel or alternate universes that resemble original characters are ineligible. Some ineligible examples are the Baroness from “World’s Without End” and Xamot from “Shattered Glass.” g. Characters that share the same given names as original characters will be assumed to be the same characters as the originals and are thus ineligible unless there is substantial evidence to indicate that the given names are coincidental. Some ineligible examples are Air Raid (F. Talltree), Rampage (S. Guderian), Benchpress (C. McConnel), and Speed Metal (S. Guderian). h. Characters that share the same code name as original characters will also be assumed to be the same characters as the originals and are thus ineligible unless there is substantial evidence to indicate that the code names are coincidental. Some ineligible examples are Breaker (A. Shaz), Heavy Duty (H. Dalton), Rollbar (R. Williston), and Ice Storm (N. Ligotke). Eligible exceptions include Airborne (R. Six), Long Range (A. Garcia), Lifeline (G. Scott), Dusty (J. Paquette), Rampage (W. McDaniel), Rampage (J. Remington), Inferno (S. Brownson), Black Dragon (Leader), Metalhead (M. Hurley), Mouse (Gaines), Sgt. Stone (G. Stone IV), Doc (Carla Greer), and Dial-Tone (Jill Morelli). 4) DROPOUTS: Characters will enter the Drop Zone on their 5th poll and every 5th poll thereafter. The Drop Zone is a warning that indicates the last poll in which characters must average at least 5% of all votes over the past five polls to remain in the poll. Anyone that averages less than 5% will drop back into the nomination list within a given percentage of the highest nominee’s nominations. See table below. If < 5% but > 4%, then 80%. If < 4% but > 3%, then 70%. If < 3% but > 2%, then 60%. If < 2% but > 0%, then 50%. 5) THREAD ETIQUETTE: To prevent thread derailment, please refrain from lengthy debates or inflammatory remarks. Posting a question or brief remark about eligibility is acceptable and even encouraged, but repeated arguments and complaints are unproductive and should be taken to an alternative thread, such as http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...me-survey.html.
