it seems to me that the diplomatic solution is to create your own thread with your own customs and attach it to your sig. that's about as much promoting as anyone can do in the forum.
i don't think multiple threads of Tanker customs throughout a given day 'takes away' from anything you've done, it simply provides an atmosphere for all to share their work. if your customs are miles above the rest (which is subjective,) then the work will speak for itself and you would get all the plaudits you deserve. |

don't believe X is looking for compliments on his custom work, in the past when you logged on every new post was available since the last time you logged in, sometimes it was 10 pages but you didn;t miss anything.
more recently the site shifted to only showing the 50 most recent posts. so after getting home from work or what not, you'd miss half of the items. by multiple threads for a given custom instead of one for the day, the more likely you are to miss something. |

i agree they get buried too fast. a lot of good threads seem to get buried fast. nothing a little digging can't resolve. i don't mind searching for stuff in the forum. sure it's not convenient, but i won't complain. it's all there. |

True... but how many times has someone's work been filed away to page 2+ simply because 10 other people either comment on something, or post something new? Personally, I don't really have a problem with this system, because well... it's probably the most happy medium way to go with about it. However... I only look at the 1st page "hot topics" 95% of the time when I jump on to see what's going on. When I do choose to page back a few, I usually see threads that I missed. Common problem for most, I'm sure.
How to fix this? You can't really, imo. I will say this though - Not calling anyone here out, but I've seen this trend on other sites with certain other people. Let's face it, if you flood the 1st page with your stuff... you're certain to get comments based on percentages alone. Not only that, but if you do "flood", you have to realize (assuming people think) you will bump everyone's stuff right on down the line. That's just what I've experienced, but I'm sure some of you have seen this. Still... I don't think we can truly fix any of this. It's just the way a forum works, plain and simple. |

i knew it LOL.i know what your say and thats the prob how this is set up we only really look at the new posts and with how big this site is we all miss stuff. so a way to cut it down alittle is if you have more then 1 custom to make 1 topic for them in that day. Quote:
