Ebay listings box

How exactly does it choose listing from Ebay?

The auctions ending first? Last? Only BINs? Sometimes when I click on them, the auction has already ended. I can't figure out a rhyme or reason for what's listed. Is it Ebay's 82-2000 section? 2000-present section?

I thought it went by ending soonest but just doesn't update quick enough
