@Josh I couldn’t figure out what the heck was going on in that panel. Now it makes sense but, yeah, it shouldn’t have to take multiple reads to figure it out. I wonder what Larry thought when (if) he read it…

I get the sense that Larry Hama is off by himself doing his own thing, and doesn't pay a damn bit of attention to anyone else.

Not crazy about the artwork. I like the ticking time bomb concept on each page. I liked seeing my favorite Cobra jet. Overall, it was fine. Don't hate it, don't love it. Just happy to have something GI Joe to look at

That really stood out to me, too. I first thought someone snuck up and knocked her out. Maybe someone did, and figured she would be out longer than a second and, so they took a moment to go to the can. Could be it was the ARAH intro of Wraith, thus making the issue significant.

My perspective on these is that by design they are self contained "one and done" - which means not being continuity heavy going in and not doing anything that changes continuity.

They are really an artist showcase. A chance for the reader to see an artist's take on the series , and in a more distinct/ personal style that you wouldn't normally see in the main book. We are used to seeing a more traditional story driven adventure style of art so it is interesting to see different takes - but appreciate they may not be for everyone.

Personally I thought Jinx was great.

Yes, art is subjective. My personal rule is if I can do it better, then I won't likely enjoy it. It's why I'm in awe of artists like Mooneyham, Andy Kubert, Jim Lee, et al and can't get into works by Reilly or Dani. To each their own.
