Interesting. I think I prefer letting the villains stay villains. Would be down to see some Joes become villains, though, if it was a core character who really shook things up. Then the fallout, the manhunt, the betrayals ... could be good storytelling.

I'd risk it. Not a fan of her, though, and some characters should rotate out so others can become as influential as Baroness, Snake-Eyes, Duke, etc.

Maybe you're old enough to remember those cartoon episodes of Justice Friends when Superman would be *bad* for an episode? Same with SE, in that we know there's no real chance of him *staying* the villain. But, if they took another character - say, Beach-Head - who got injured, passed over for promotion, left behind, or something that offended the character, and COBRA turned his soured attitude against the Joes ... and kept him the villain ... how much damage could he do to his former team? How many Joes has he interacted with in 40 years, and how could he exploit each of them for 40 years to come? To me, that's more interesting than "now the Baroness is good" because that feels too much like "now Catwoman is good" but Batman (or Duke) has to be more heroic/anti-heroic to keep her safe from her enemies while all the other heroes debate if he is being played by her.
