ARAH #1 was released June 1982 (according to a quick online search) which would work out to be 310 issues in 508 months - if it released in May then 509 months. Mr. Hama has turned 75 this year (also in June). Not sure what Skybound has planned w/ the new title launch, but would it be a bad thing if ARAH wrapped up in the next 10-15 issues? |

This got me thinking.

I don’t get the sense that Skybound is interested in ending ARAH anytime soon. I may be misremembering, but I seem to remember Kirkman sitting with Hama at a Comicon panel saying he wants Hama to get to issue 400. That might be a challenge considering Hama’s age, but if he stays healthy and perhaps gets some help, I think it’s doable.

So the Serpentor situation has finally been explained: the body in Mindbender's freezer is NOT the actual original Serpentor, but a backup clone with a fake arrow wound over his eye. I guess I can live with that.
The ending of the Dawn & cop situation felt off. In theory, I'm fine with the cop betraying Dawn after she saved him, but him deciding 5 seconds after being rescued that she's too self-righteous to live seemed a bit contrived. The Baroness is shot and badly wounded, but we know she can't die because then she couldn't keep appearing on the retailer exclusive covers. EDITED to add an interesting tease in the letters page, with Alex Antone saying to "stay tuned" for news about Skybound potentially releasing more titles set in the ARAH-verse. Possible NYCC announcement? With so many foes fighting each over, a Serpentor clone might be coming to life and Cobra Commander killing Sean adopted dad he may find he?s time running out. could this lead to his death ? |

Where is Sean, anyway? Last time I remember him was the funeral.

More seriously, I do miss Special Missions and the more contained storytelling of the single issue plot. I enjoy the main title and the ongoing lore, but would not object to a sister series that can spotlight some different Joes and Cobras. It is a different challenge getting all the plot done in a single issue compared to writing for an ongoing where characters can be slowly introduced. If we got a quarterly, 48-page Special Missions series to make things easier on Mr Hama and the artists to juggle then I would be quite happy. Edit: ARAH #311 doesn't arrive until November 20th? So Skybound is skipping an October release? I guess we're only getting maybe 10 issues a year. Last edited by SquishyOH; 10-02-2024 at 01:19 PM.. |

How do you think that is going to happen and in what way do you think?
