Thankfully Skybound is committed to assigning great artists to ARAH. Mooneyham has been fantastic and I?m looking forward to Paul Pelletier?s contributions. I wasn?t familiar with his work, but it has a Ron Wagner feel to it so I?m pretty excited. |

The stylised art is the best part of this book. Miles better than the generic, over-rendered cape comic art we were getting for the entirety of IDW ARAH.
Doesn't look as good as Chris Mooneyham's work on Skybound ARAH, but it's expressive and dynamic with strong, readable action and staging. |

Art on IDW Joe stuff was mostly bad. Diaz was great (and I?d love to see him on a Joe title again) and there were a few one off issues that had great art, but mostly IDW failed to invest in art (including cheaping out on inkers), which is kinda important for this medium. I?m just glad that era is behind us.

Yeah. Gallant's strength was never drawing characters, it was always in how he captured movement and poses for action sequences. The characters themselves felt too thin. He's like the opposite of Rob Liefeld. Robert Atkins was the best artist from the IDW era for sure.

Great issue overall! Though, still bothered by Zarana & Zandar's interaction being so unremarkable (and so obviously not close to Zandar. :( )

I'd also say it's definitely really good they both survived, considering the Transformers comic is killing major characters left and right, I was wondering if they might kill Zandar off. I think you should take that as a sign that there are definitely plans for them, and with Zartan currently out of the story (I'm still betting he's Colonel Hawk at the moment), you'll probably get more scenes of Zarana and Zandar together until Zartan comes into play. |
