I think this is my favorite issue of the G.i. Joe side of the EU! A lot of action in this one, and a lot of interesting character stuff. I feel like this one really moved the story forward.
The letters column didn't have any big reveals like the last one. Just some angry and confused guy named Howard.

Howard's letter was by far the most entertaining part of this issue for me. Like, he seems to think the concept of multiple continuities is brand new? Has he been in a coma since 1988 when European Missions came out? Was he really confused when IDW G.I. Joe #0 was released and Duke hadn't been killed by Scarlett for defecting to Cobra?

Loved it. I'll gladly watch the retractions from CBR, ComicBook, and ScreenRant about Major Bludd being killed off in #3.

Bludd is a great character and even in the sunbow cartoon was pretty competent. Don?t know why people want him killed off like in resolute.

Bludd's headwound was pretty cool. Interesting that he won't be fawning over Baroness but still probably obsessed with her.
This issue felt more like a toy commercial than any Joe comic I've read in a long time. "Do you have the Scrap-Iron doll? You can remove his helmet and see his scars, kids!" "Do you have the Stalker doll? You can pretend he has his knife out and then sheath it behind his back, kids!" "Do you remember the old vehicles from the 1980s? They're dusty and broken, but back, kids! Incomplete shells ready to be restored." At one point Destro asks for Scrap-Iron and then says he needs to bring his new weapon and I got excited. Ooooo! What weapon will he have! Oh, that's right, it's his doll accessory. Should have seen that coming. Glad R&R and Clutch had a chance to do a thing.

I'm surprised how many people thought him being shot in the eye killed him. The character is known for having an eye patch, so seeing him without one and then being shot in the eye should've told people he was going to lose his eye. I know Bumblebee dying in Transformers #1 was unexpected, but not everyone is going to die unexpectedly.

Another great issue. I really enjoy seeing old school joes in this way. My only complaint is the yellow text on the letters page is really hard for me to read.

Bludd getting shot in the head makes me think of Mac in Predator, how the closeup, after the Predator shot him, shows massive amounts of blood dripping from his head, but when Dillon spots Mac's body a little later, his head is perfectly intact.
