Great issue! My first thoughts:
> My favorite Snake Eyes uniform is back! > Cobra Commander is a bad**s again--and with a cool mask! > I vaguely remember Black Hat from IDW but I don’t remember anything about her. > Good to see Destro, Baroness, and Zartan again. > Mooneyham continues to crush it. His attention to detail is amazing. > Hama is revitalized. Loving his storytelling right now. > Only nitpick: “All that sugar in meatball the tomato sauce MRE isn’t good for you.” This sentence is a little confusing. I mentally remove “meatball” from it and it makes sense. Last edited by stopdead; 02-21-2024 at 12:44 PM.. |

Yeah, I stumbled over that sentence, too. I think it's a typo.
I wonder if the CC design in this comic is just the style of the authors or if it's an indication of what we could potentially see in a Classified figure? Perhaps b/c I just read this back to back with Duke #2 (where they painstakingly replicate the Classified look for another character that I won't spoil if you haven't read it yet), but I wonder if "Lucha Mask" CC will become a thing in the toyline? I really really dig the Cobra Commander and Duke mini-series. ARAH is not quite there yet. Transformers is amazing (art style and story). Image alone is bringing me back into comic reading.

I second (third?) the Cobra Commander sentiments. It is wonderful to see him like this as opposed to the buffoonery he has projected for the last hundred or so issues.
And once again, I'm loving the art and color in this comic.

Right. It should say “…in THE meatball…”
The intended sentence is still a touch too wordy.

I don't mind Cobra Commander having a new mask, that's completely in character for him. So here's a new mask. I wonder how long it will stick around. It at least solves the artificially-created and unnecessary political deadlock they've painted themselves into by only having him wear a helmet all the time. I don't think it does it elegantly. It reminds me of the DDP balaclava, but not as good. Maybe it's the leather seams and Spidey eyes I don't like. I really liked the casino helmet. That was miles better than the vintage helmet, which has always looked goofy (especially when it has the stripe on it). I was laughing out loud that the new Cobra Commander design continues to reenforce the fictional problem while ACTUALLY DRESSING HIM LIKE HITLER AND MUSSOLINI. It's like he got Giovanni Gentile to be his tailor! Lol. He's got jodhpurs on. Clownworld is so tiresome. I actually just thought it was weird that those two would eat anything that's so bad for you. But, it was MREs so I guess they'd have some sitting around.

I thought of a dark blue take on v20 CC without the hood:

It’s not a great figure, but the hood is killer and makes it a good figure, IMO. I also used that hood on a car salesman/burgeoning terrorist CC custom.

I think Larry is invigorated by Skybound's investment in Joe. Not just on ARAH, but also with the Energon stuff. I wonder if Larry might see Energon as friendly competition and it's pushing him to be better. |
