I wonder why his face is darkened when we’ve already seen what he looks like during the Marvel run.

This might be a "soft" reboot.

Thats my favorite too. It really is his definitive look in my opinion.

Issue 304 is coming out next week in February.
Issue 306 is coming out in May? That's what Skybound is saying https://www.skybound.com/announcemen...s-guest-artist That leaves March and April for issue 305. Something happened here. I remember the good old days during the Cobra Civil War when Marvel was putting out 2 issues each month giving us about 14 issues a year. Odd that after a 12 month rest with Larry Hama getting ahead on the scripts that we're already going to be skipping a month. Hope this won't be a continuing trend with this title. |

It could be artist related. They have the scripts but maybe the artist got behind. It could be editorial as well. I get the impression that IDW didn't really do a whole lot of editing. Image could have a stricter editing process that is slowing things down. Also, Kirkman likes to take breaks after each ark, so maybe he is rubbing off on Larry Hama. Lots of possible explanations.

Most modern artists struggle to maintain a monthly schedule and so will typically be on for an arc and then swap or have a fill in artist or have a pause to catch up.
We sre used to SL Gallant - a rare example of an artist that could turn around 20 pages in 2 weeks. This was one of the reasons he was so prolific at IDW - reliable, fast as well as being a good storyteller who is on top of the elements that make joe a tough book (weaponry, vast set of characters, vehicles etc). As Pelletier is described as a guest artist, I imagine he will only be on for an issue or so initially and mooneyham will be back soon. |
