[QUOTE=Sithlord13;5746332]What have I just read?
That was just a mess. It?s so different to what Hama used to write that it?s like it?s not him anymore. Not a fan.[/ That?s what I feel when I read the comments. Wtf? Zombies? Wow??.maybe we are all adults and just over it?..yeah I am not reading that. Maybe the cc1 and duke1 series will be better. Let?s hope. |

...but also, not a fan of whatever's going on with Snake Eyes in this continuity. Original was out-of-control powerful, but the character was constrained by their disabilities in ways that felt somewhat balancing. New Xerox Snake Eyes just reads like all of the upside of the original character and none of the costs. The character's not interesting enough to spend as much time on now that's he's perfect. |

I'm completely fine with Revanche. I think the more enemies for the Joes the better. That said, I would also like to see more foes that aren't Cobra, such as the Dreadnoks. It would be great to see some of the established Cobra-adjacent enemies like Destro/Baroness, Firefly, Major Bludd et al break away from Cobra completely.

Another detail I picked up in my second read through was that Alex (editor) referred to Sean as Throwdown in the letters page. That suggests to me that we'll be seeing him again sooner rather than later--hopefully with a new uniform! |

That's not why he set off the bomb. He had been told by Mindbender that the bomb turned its victims into unthinking zombies, G.I. Joe was on the verge of capturing him, and he thought being turned into a mindless monster was a better outcome than being a prisoner. Any benefits of the mutation, including the zombies getting to keep their intelligence and personality, were only discovered after the bomb went off.

Right, but maybe that was dictated by Hasbro. Either way, it would be nice if they broke away for good.

I'm not a fan of zombies or the blue ninjas, but the combination of the two is somehow intriguing. That said, I'd prefer it wasn't in ARAH, but at this point, what's done is done.
The same is true for Snake Eyes. He's a silent/mute ninja commando, who shouldn't have been killed off and immediately replaced by a carbon copy. And bringing him back as a clone and acting like he's the same person is weird too. I didn't like SE talking in the (terrible) live action movie, but, again, at this point with all of the ridiculousness, I'm strangely ok with it here. It would've been silly for the cloned body to be mute. Hopefully he doesn't become some kind of Deadpool chatterbox, though. The cabin scenes were actually my favorite in this issue, but I swear, if he's scarred up again... And speaking of repetition: let's attack Springfield and The Pit! Again! Ah well, it's goofy fun. And Mooneyham has instantly become one of my favorite artists to have worked on the series.

Really need a Marvel style bio page with a quick recap at the start of the issue with a brief statement about each character featured in the issue.
I have no idea what the Snake looking AI robot is, who Blue ninjas are, what the weird human looking Bats are, and if I wasn't a member of the Joe community I would have had no idea who Dawn was. This run is a horrible starting point for anyone not already deep in the Joe fandom. The difficulty in finding back issues with so many Comic Book stores having gone under during the pandemic and all the digital releases being pulled because of loss of license makes the current storyline nigh impossible to just pick up and start with. They really need to consider every issue could be a persons first comic issue and put a brief recap page at the start. I can take years off a Marvel title pick up a 1000+ issue of Spider-man read the recap at the bottom of the credits page and jump right back into the story, can't do that with Hama's GI Joe run at all. |

I absolutely love the Serpentor cover. Such great colors that really pop.
I'm hoping we'll get less ninja-y in future issues, but I don't see that happening. |

Once again, I really loved the art. The scene with Duke and Spirit was really atmospheric and said a lot about their characters.
The Serpentor and Revanche alliance is interesting. I like the idea of there being this third party who is at odds with everyone else. |
