I liked it! I was totally NOT expecting Cobra-La, and they pulled it off for me--I feel like it works! I love Andrea Milani's art. It really sets the mood. I want to read it again, and probably should have before posting, but...is that "Grunt" at the end? Robert Graves with a beard? Or did I miss something?

Leave it to Larry Hama to find a way to tell Snake-Eyes' origin story all over again.

Honestly, I'm not fan of the Movie or Cobra-La, but you may have just sold me on this take. If you're going to inject some batshit Lovecraftian eldritch craziness into my GI Joe, go all the way, and please, for the love of everything unholy, lean into the body horror.

Really disappointed in this series. Cobra-La is to GI Joe what the Star Wars sequels are to Star Wars. Pure crap.
The issue itself was fine, but I have no interest in Cobra La as a storyline. |
