Cobra Commander's final ever costume change. Kinda sad, thanks Hisstank forums! The helmet is his worse look, I don't even like it much. I do like that he changes his look to fit the scenario.
That Dark Knight homage stuck out to me. Well, it makes it clear what these "mutants" are going to be. Part of me doesn't like it, but really it is pretty natural and organic for Mindbender's story arc. So, it is weird but I'm fine with it. Timber IV joins the team. Still think the Iron Grenadier attack on the Blue Ninjas should have been the end of them. Camp Greer? Has the base above the Utah PIT ever been named before? If they named it after Doc then they must have renamed it because that base predates the Joe team. And I think there may be a few new buildings, it looked more operational on the surface than it used to be. Interesting to see Dawn's parents introduced in this way. So, do they know she's a Joe and they're asking about the opposing force to The Commander, or did they ever find out she left Cobra at all? Maybe someone told them she went to work on Cobra Island. That funny Techno-Viper who hung out with Mindbender for a year of stories as his sidekick at the casino seems to be gone now. Was Keel-Haul at the funeral?

I wonder if the helmet change was mandated by Hasbro, but it wouldn't have made sense to change it for 301 due to him being a prisoner at the end of 300. But it can easily be explained now that he's back in Springfield. Maybe this classic version is the only CC we'll be seeing moving forward, which is fine by me as it's my favorite look for him.

I check it out less frequently than I used to, but it's a nice place to visit. Unlike Springfield. It serves as the closest we've got to a comic book imdb, I think.

I liked the fanged helmet a lot more. It was really cool. I assume it was SL Gallant's own initiative. We can see that the new artist is redesigning elements he can get away with to make them his own, so my assumption is that he dumped the prior artist's redesign. Also an element of caving to artificial social pressure to keep his career and his home.
Just my speculation.

Pretty much. I liked all of the Whiskey Media sites, it's unfortunate that Comic Vine and Giant Bomb are all that remain.

I have been critical of the last few years GI Joe but I am liking the new issues. I think it's mainly the superior art. The body shot of Serpentor was awesome. Too bad hes a mutant. I'm not sure on the mutants attacking Springfield. The whole Springfield is in America and the Joes know about it yet Cobra still has a base there has always been one of the dumber plotlines. And the nobody seems disturbed by the mutants.
