Just finished--thanks for a great rundown Funky Bunch! I'm impressed you managed to get so much in, and even threw in a little humor (humour?) in there! I'd forgotten a lot, and you got me even more excited for #301.

Just watched the video.
Man...had no idea how Larry just rehashed old plots over and over and over. How many times did they build a new Pit and then have it blown up? How many times did Cobra set up new Springfields just to have them blown up? How many times can Sneak Peek die? Soooo much repetition.... |

And I should clarify my comment on art, as I don?t want to disparage the workhorse that is S.L. Gallant. His work on ARAH was consistent and reliable. His pencils would have benefited greatly from more time ($$) and a great inker, which IDW never invested in. Inkers are underrated. I loved Rod Whigham?s run, but Andy Mushynsky was the unsung hero. See all of Whigham?s non-ARAH work and you?ll understand what I?m saying. Last edited by stopdead; 10-28-2023 at 10:34 PM.. |

I liked SL Gallant's art quite a bit. To me, he was naturally able to blend some cartoon aesthetic on the surface with well-rendered realistic figures beneath. The finished art was not too detailed or over-rendered and was generally consistent, like you said. I think he also holds a record for having the most consequetive issues back-to-back.
