Yeah I agree with both statements above. My fear is that entangling GiJoe in a Transformers story in a permanent fashion will only further degrade and confuse the brand's clarity. Those are hands-down the worst Marvel issues of ARAH. Now there will always be a robot surprise right around the corner, haunting us even when not visible.
Give me some good missions with a diverse cast of less-used characters, and for all that's holy develop some new peer relationships on the page.

This would be exceptional and *might* be just the challenge that Larry Hama needs. |

I don't see that happening anytime soon. Kirkman was shouting out either 400 or 500 issues at SDCC when asked about Larry's continuation of ARAH. I realize he was using hyperbole, but his point was Larry isn't going anywhere.

I will buy everything G.I. Joe Hama writes. I am a guaranteed sale from now until forever. He is the only person on the planet who can create the one Joe product that some of us always want to buy--G.I. Joe comics written by Larry Hama. I'm there for it, every issue.
Everything else I have to be sold on. You gotta win me over. But I'm way, way easier to sell on a new Joe title than pretty much everything else. And yet somehow IDW deliberately seemed to be trying to push me away for a while there. But I'm down for this. We've tried a lot of stuff. I'm fine with trying crossover stories for a while. I'm ready to see where it goes. If it's dumb they'll do something different in a couple years that maybe I'll like better.

Being a Hama fan is like being a Metallica fan. If you're in for the good stuff ("Silent Interlude" or "Master of Puppets"), then also you're in for the bad stuff ("Giant Eye" or "St. Anger"). Just follow along, don't whine, enjoy the ride and memories-- whether good or bad.
