Agreed. I'm more excited about that announcement than I am for #300. I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment, but I'm really hoping that the new publisher commits to making ARAH the best it can be--meaning a strong art team (pencils AND inks) and an editor that loves the book as much as we do that isn't afraid to tell Larry when something doesn't work or could be better.

Yes, that as well. That said, I would love for it to be set in the Hamaverse as opposed to yet another reboot with yet another fresh take on characters that we already know and love. When a publisher does that, to me it feels like someone wrote an original comic with original characters and simply rebranded it G.I. Joe because they thought it would sell more copies.

The most fun I had reading a Joe comic in years was Saturday Morning Adventures. Really hope the new publisher brings back the Sunbow inspired comic spinoff.

As far as a new series, I'd like for it to be an anthology, with every issue having sea, air, and land stories. No more soap opera. Just give me cool missions. |

But another book in the Hama continuity while he is also writing the main book? Tricky to pull off! He was the wolverine writer having to tie into x continuity (and also batman during no mans land) so it is something hes done before... |

Yes, Hama confirmed it himself several months back. A new publisher will continue the series with #301.
I'm enjoying this arc. It's fun and has a classic Marvel run feel to it. I just wish the art team was better. But I don't disagree that ARAH would benefit from fresh ideas. Its not a story that I would every have written myself or asked for but I guess that's part of the point. There is plenty of room for the more fantastical and wacky and also more gritty and grounded (the Falcon spotlight was one of my very favourites of the IDW era) In an interview the other day Hama confirmed he has just finished his script for 302. |

So are we gonna wind up with Snake-Eyes, Dawn, and Sean all running around? Is Sean gonna get a new face and vocal chords so he's not just Snake-Eyes Jr?

And will the clone Snake Eyes have a messed up face and no vocal cords?
Why? That's just a dick move. Give the poor bastard his face and voice back since you're building him from the ground up. So we'll have Sean Snakes Eyes who's been running around with no face and voice, adn Dawn Snake Eyes who is stuck with all of real Snake Eyes' memories, including his love for Scarlett, then we get this synthetic Snake Eyes that's totally just like the original, dude, we swear.....and I bet somewhere, peeking in from the corner on the last panel as Scarlett and Clone Snake Eye walk off into the distance, we'll see the REAL Snake Eyes, sadly crying a single tear, and then walking off alone. Real Snake Eyes isn't dead. Characters "blown up" off panel with no bodies found are never dead in any comic. In GI Joe, a comic where we've seen plenty of characters as actual corpses suddenly get up and say "I'm fine!" then it goes double. |
