The Great Kahn looks rather goofy.

I've continued to buy this book for years and years - simply out of loyalty. I can't tell you the last time I actually read an entire issue. So sad. I love Larry - and I love the original run... but so much of this is just being phoned in.

The only one I really, truly enjoyed was the one from about a year ago that was another Nam flashback.
No wait, the issue honoring their fallen soldiers was also really good. The rest.......eh. Think the real Snake Eyes will finally be back in issue 300? |

I have the Special Missions (vol. 21) and Untold Tales (vol. 25) TPBs. Not much else I plan to get from this IDW run.

They need to be ashamed of themselves with the lowbrow writing this book has been putting out over the last few years. Those weren't techno-vipers smh.....Dr Mindmender just ..yeah.. How does Khan know what a grenade is? And can they please kill sean and dawn and reset all of this crap after 300 with new writers. Hamas time has long been over. We're just being nice to the old guy at this point. The writing is utter trash. So over the ninjas. Somebody just shoot them so we can move on.

I always try to read ARAH through the eyes of my ten year old self and my ten year old self enjoyed this issue. I can't say that for all of them, especially when the art sucks, but Serpentor Kahn is straight out of the 80’s and if Rod Whigham penciled this issue I think it would have fit right in back then.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Larry’s writing, per se. I do struggle with the arcs and they way they are plotted out, but I don’t think that’s all Larry. I'd like to think IDW is to blame for forcing him to do these arcs which clearly do not play to his strengths. We know that he’s continuing the series with #301 so I might as well root for him. At least we'll know then how much IDW was at fault... Last edited by stopdead; 09-21-2022 at 10:55 AM.. |
