That's exactly what happened in 2009. While Chuck Dixon was writing G.I. Joe, Hama was writing the opening-arc for Origins:

Yup...any comic that has been around this long has to get creative about its backstories. ARAH is hardly alone in that regard. It doesn't bother me at all.
Funny, I agree with you but I'd prefer a giant robot over characters that I feel are uninteresting--like Sherlock--but whatever keeps the story rolling is fine by me.

So was the Origin series meant to be the origin of the Hamaverse or an alternate universe? I vaguely remember reading it and thinking it wasn't part of the Hamaverse. The villain, as I recall, was a psychologist and former army. That's not Hama's Cobra Commander.

Here's hoping the next publisher has a clone of 1982 Larry Hama.

Have we heard any news on the new publisher? Or is there a better thread to discuss that?
Thanks in advance! |

Yes, Skybound Entertainment and Image are the new publishers. Larry Hama's A Real American Hero is continuing with #301 in November, while the main continuity is a Transformers/G.I. Joe shared universe called the Energon Universe, with the first Joe books in that continuity coming out in December.
