I voted "yes". Because, while it is very easy to dismiss Hama as an "embarrassing relic of a bygone era", recent interviews (as well as his social media postings) suggest someone who is far more enlightened/attuned to modern sensibilities than one might assume. For example ...
Marvel Voices e28 "Larry Hama, the Renaissance Man" https://www.marvel.com/watch/digital...arvel-s-voices Oh, and then there was this ... https://www.hisstank.com/forum/5454928-post291.html So, given a real opportunity, even at Hama's incredibly advanced age, he may still have quite a lot to offer. Or at least a bit more to offer (beyond the simplistic drivel that has long defined his career).

Honestly? I think the Hamaverse is essentially a zombie. I haven't liked his Joe since the original run in the #70s. It's a dead horse. The early IDW-verse with the first couple of Cobra Minis and the first couple of years of Dixon's run are better than anything else since the first 50 issues of Joe. I'd rather see the next publisher do something along those lines. Kids don't read comics anymore. Just give us something with some substance. IDW was doing pretty good for a bit, but then about a decade or so ago decided to completely tank their quality. I don't have any interest in what Hama is doing or has done for about the last 35 years. Reading the IDW Hama stuff is just weird. I tried it. It just seemed... off.

I think we've discussed this before, but a "Larry Hama presents G.I. Joe" (a la Stan Lee) wouldn't be a bad way to honor his legacy. As long as characters created by LH are part of the team, it'll remain in the Hamaverse, but that doesn't mean teams and assignments can't be revamped or taken in directions away from his storylines. |

Continue it, but keep Hama out. The longer he does it, the more his weaknesses or perhaps a general lack of interest come to the forefront. Devi's Due had the best approach.
Reboots are fun, but I'm not committing to a new take on G.I. Joe that may or may not last a year.

I'm up for a more modern take. Similar but updated. One of the middle east wars as the backdrop for Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow's history. Could add new members of the team or change up some of the existing ones back stories for it.

Even better. I'd like to think they wouldn't be forgotten, but I'd read somewhere that the recent Disney reboot series of The Rocketeer failed to credit Dave Stevens. Not sure if that's true, but that would be a shame to see them left out of the credits. |

No. I'm fine if they want Hama to write more, but the "Hamaverse" mythos is too much. I've tried to get into the IDW continuation several times, but it just doesn't "feel" right. Like, it's not the same without Hasbro constantly forcing new vehicles and characters on him. Some of Hama's best work was rolling with the punches.
