I'd be completely fine with an open ending, to be continued in #301 from a different publisher. But I would really want a commitment from that publisher that the product will be first rate. First rate writing, first rate art, and covers that relate to the story inside.

I was a bit disappointed in this one, but I'll give it another read as usually I'm not so critical the second time around. I love the Oktober Guard, but for me I really love the stories where they're sort of the a third-party antagonist/protagonist, and I loved how Hama would sprinkle in bits of the different Warsaw Pact nationalities in there. I've made my views on Revanche/Blue Ninjas well known (I don't care for them at all), so seeing the OG go up basically against killer robots didn't do much for me.
Plus, while I remember GI Joe Special Missions 26 pretty well, I must have missed Hama's bringing them back and subsequent retcons that have been mentioned, so it's even more confusing to me to see those retcons re-addressed here. I did like seeing the OG care for their own, both with Daina and HorrowShow. I just don't feel like HorrowShow's humanity was really earned or explained in the story. Also, I'm bummed there was no letter page! Even when the letters are bad, I just enjoying seeing them and the editorial comments. Also, every once in a while somebody like "Funky Bunch" Mark writes in and the letters page is really interesting! I did LOVE the preview cover for next month's issue! |

It was fun to see the next issue cover reveal. We normally get to see them online first months ahead of release so it was nice to see first in the actual book. |

I would like them to try a special missions approach with 4 issue story arcs. That all combine to tell one story. Each story arc has a certain team or theme. New drug on market by headmaster find out hes kidnapping addicts. DEF team is shown. Plane with kidnapped ppl gets away..but a tracker shows them in the Arctic base where mindbender is developing a new soldier and using addicts as test dummies. The soldiers are transported to south America. Base is run by Cobra Mortal..we see brazil team. Get what i mean..cause the blue ninjas, and october guard stuff is horrid

Do we know for a fact that is the cover we saw? I hope it is, but it could also just be the first page. Solicitations show another crappy pinup.

"Blue Ninjas" don't bother me too much. They're based on the Cobra Combat Ninja (robot head) which could substitute as the Cobra Troopers in "Retaliation" (human head). So, they have an action figure, instead of someone made up by Hama without one. Glad he attempted to explain the OG and Sneak-Peek's return (unlike Heavy Duty and Crankcase). At this point, who cares if Snake Eyes returns without an explanation? LOL!

I'd actually be totally OK with a "silent" finale, just make it massive, like a graphic novel. Wrap up the Arashikage story, or leave it open, I could go either way.

I wonder if Gallant will draw it or if IDW will buck up for an A-lister? |

I, personally, think that this thread is no longer intetesting. Therefore I want it to end for everyone with post number 30.
