Fun issue! I love this era of ARAH and issue 34 is one of my all time favorites. I just wish Waltz had enlisted Dan Shoening for this issue as his style would have been more in line with Rod Whigham's work in #34. Heck, it would have been even cooler if he got Whigham to do it, but I haven't seen his name in ages...he may be retired.

That was a great issue. Best of Untold. I agree that #34 is one of the best ARAH and to follow it up was great to see.
But, at the end Bludd mentions see you at the rally, which sounds like a nod to Billy's assassination attempt, but that was before in 33. Was there another significant rally after 33/34, or maybe Bludd was just speaking in generalities. |

i enjoyed this issue. A kind of middle of the road story for me...not the greatest, not the worst. I will say that while Ron Joseph isn't my favorite artist, this art is a million times better than what we got last issue.

This issue was ok except I get anal retentive about the retconning when Larry takes a trip down memory lane.
Techno Vipers, Vipers, Night Ravens, they didn't exist right after issue 34. On a more serious note, Bludd feels very out of character in his attitude towards the Baroness. In those days, he was following her around like a lost puppy if I recall correctly. On to the letters section, Larry asks if he should do another silent issue. NO LARRY. the silent issue gimmick is played out nuff said

Ok, this was another fun issue, however...
I really did not like how this followed up the OG classic issue 34. It removes much of the mystique that that part of the OG run had going for it. I mean 34 was such a classic and really that final salute to end that was best left at that. Then, when you go back and look at issue 35...for instance, Baroness and Blood look very chummy together, walking and talking. Do they normally try and murder each other every other day...lol I hate how this was basically a Rogue One to the classic 1977 Star Wars. You know what I mean? |

I would do just about anything to have Whigham pencil an issue of Joe. Best ever in my opinion.

This was fine. I appreciated the era it was set in, although as others have noted, it isn't really in-character or hitting the right tones to be set during that time.
Baroness bothers me as a character most of the time. This was a good appearance for her though. Perhaps I like her more when she is being used as a focal character instead of a foil or antagonist. The inclusion of vehicles or troops which hadn't debuted yet doesn't bother me. Just because we see them as a reader in a certain issue doesn't mean they don't exist prior to that place in the storyline off-panel.

As usual, I picked it up but didn't read it. Hopefully I will this weekend. I did flip through it and my first reaction was surprise that it was a follow up to issue 34, but then my next reaction was like some of you, wondering why techno vipers and vipers were in the series.
