For those keeping track, I made minor edits to volume 10 after consulting the Hama readthrough thread based on user J James's comments and clarifications, and also after I consulted Option38.com. Edits in the original post.

I had that issue that came with the SS and SE figure, that was supposed to expand on the classic silent issue. It was pretty dumb, in my opinion, and added nothing of value. The fact that they had some low level artist for hire didn't help.
But a few months ago I got curious and tried to put it in actual reading order. It wasn't easy to do cause some scenes overlap in odd ways, but I think I figured it out. Anyone interested in seeing that? |

Sure, but what do you mean by SS and SE? Do you mean Silence Between Borders that was in the figure pack? Just clarifying.

Yes, that issue. It was re-released fairly recently by IDW in a trade with issue 21. All these years later, they're still milking issue 21!
I downloaded the digital copy and tried to rearrange the pages in order, but like I said, some of it didn't really "fit" but I think I got as close as possible. |

This is what I came up with. Note that it doesn't quite match the order we've reviewed them in in the other thread. This is because of Yearbook 2019 being moved.
255 256-259 Cobra's Venom Yearbook 2019 Silent Option 1-4 260 Artificial Intelligence prelude 261+ Artificial Intelligence Here is my reasoning. 255 - Dawn in training (thanks nightwrite) 256-259 Cobra's Venom - This follows up on the Revanche / Bombstrike plotline last seen in 245. Silent Option cannot happen prior to this because Bombstrike is already in the middle of an ongoing mission. In 259 she returns to the PIT, allowing her to be dispatched by Hawk for Silent Option. The plot threads from this arc are tied up in 259 and it ends on a good cliffhanger to come back to later. ***this is the earliest point the Yearbook can occur at*** Alpha 001 Prime is revealed to be the highest ranking Blue Ninja. She identifies MARS, Cobra, GiJoe, and the Arashikage as the primary threats to the Blue Ninjas globally and has chosen to target them all. This leads directly into the Yearbook. Yearbook 2019 - This is mostly filler. However there are a few things which stick out. Dawn is completed with training (last seen in 255) and checking in with Grannie to announce that she has been placed at Fort Wadsworth. Helix is not with her. So this is clearly before her big first mission to save Helix since they are generally together and with Obaake after this point. Major point: here the BN supervisor describes the recent attacks by Destro's forces. Silent Option 1-4 - Bombstrike and Dawn are on this mission so it cannot happen prior to this placement. Alpine is there but his mission is complete about halfway through issue 3. 260 - Officially titled the end of Cobra's Venom but it has no threads attached except one. This subtitle is not necessary or frankly reasonable. Milo is placed at the San Francisco headquarters. Alpine is there so he is back from Silent Option #3. The plotlines for Artificial Intelligence are set up here. 261+ Artificial Intelligence - Helix appears in issue 261 with Obaake and Dawn. So it really just comes down to Bombstrike, Destro, Helix, and Alpine and where they all are during these events. Technically I suppose Silent Option could also come after #260 although 260 really reads like the first part of Artificial Intelligence. I originally had the Yearbook a little earlier but the Destro mention nixes that.

I picked up the complete (short lived) Storm Shadow series in late 2007/early 2008. I thought the costume redesign was all right but nothing else stuck out at me. I thought it was boring, despite Hama writing it.
But it was the debut of some characters like Peony, that would go on to be in ARAH, no? Also, issue 6 and 7 were pretty good. The rest is forgettable. I may be mistaken, cause I'm not a historian, but this series may have also been the first time Tommy's full name was ever established as "Tomisaburo." good stuff J James. I'll have to sort my floppies properly to fit in what you posted here. Thansk for clearing the continuity up

J James for 255 do you mean Dawn in training or did I miss something about Helix?

I updated the binding order at the start of the thread using the notes J James provided in tandem with my own, giving credit where appropriate.
For those keeping track, I asked Houchen to send back the packet for volume 10 so that I could fix it. They did not start on the binding project yet. They were loaded with comic orders during the pandemic. Everyone had the same idea that I did. I really appreciate the notes and assistance here. I'd rather fix it now than have to redo a volume later. |

You are correct. This is Dawn's training moment which has the nod to Short-Fuze in it.
