issue 276
By the end of page one I'm thinking that Scoop will be the focus of this issue rather than a quirk. I'm happy for a minor character appearance though. Torpedo isn't in his combat greens, wearing his wetsuit instead. Eh. Aman and Zara. Two indigenous Trucial Abysmia rebel fighters. One of them is good with a knife. Infiltration of a nuclear facility. When Snake-Eyes points at the cooling tower, I wonder aloud "is there a gigantic robot in there?" The nuclear doctor is the second terrorist in this issue to tell the Joes they should have listened to the rebels. Zara and the doctor go out exactly like Snake-Eyes and Serpentor. Foreshadowing! After the fact. Next issue: Law and Order. I'm not a big fan of Law but I'm ready to be one. This might be real good.

I looked for over a minute before I found the thing you are referencing here. It's definitely intentional. Good eyes, never would have noticed it on my own.

Totally agree. This was the first decent issue of GI Joe in awhile. I'd prefer 1-2 issue story arcs over the drawn out, rambling and boring ones he's been doing. Diaz and the inker are a decent combo. Bringing back Snake-Eyes would inject some life into this comic. It's a plausible story line he was trapped in a lower level of the Pitt all this time. The lower level could of had a commissary. Comic book plausible.

At the start of the story the guy they're going to get is named Hunzucker. On page 15 they call him Hunziker. At the end of the story he's back to Hunzucker. Hunziker in Trucial Abysmia is an insult. Where's my NO-PRIZE?

Just finished it. Satisfied. Maybe Larry is better at doing one or two issue stories, instead of one as long as snake hunt. The thing I don't get is a story featuring snake eyes. He killed him, refuses to bring him back, then basically recreates him as fake eyes, then tells an old tale featuring the real deal. Just bring him back already!!!!!!!

Agreed. I get why publishers like long story arcs (sales), but they just haven't worked out too well for ARAH, at least in terms of satisfying conclusions. IMO Snake Hunt would have been so much more satisfying had it ended with OG Snake Eyes memories being transferred from Dawn to Sean, effectively killing Sean and bringing back the Snake Eyes we know and love, just in another male body.

I’d love the freighter idea and Snake Eyes and Serpentor have been down there this whole time. Ham and Lima Beans.
It really is genius. |
