It's been moved to a November 18th release.

Just checked the 2 preview pages on the iTunes Store, and as suspected it will be another silent issue.🙄

I don't see where it says it's silent. Just because there are no words on the images, doesn't mean there wont be. It might be silent. It might not.

Tom Waltz pretty much confirmed it would be a silent issue in #274’s Postbox:The Pit.

Based on what I've seen, I'm wondering if this issue will be a series of splash pages--no panels. And without words, it would essentially be 20+ pages of covers. That would be pretty dang cool if you ask me.

SPOILERS.......
This had to be the absolute worst issue of G.I. Joe ARAH Larry Hama edition. Even worse than when Tony Salmons did pencils back in the day.... It was a flat ending to what could have been a game-changing storyline. Woo-hoo, Sean is safe and sound. Most of the Joes never got off the bus, and it looks like only the MOBAT saw any combat. Hundreds of COBRA troopers paid the price, but it looks like the good guys faired better: Tunnel-Rat got shot in the arm, and Laura did too. And I guess firing automatic weapons and throwing grenades at POINT-BLANK range is like throwing spit-wads at the Joes. And, oh look....Granny Demon has her purse with a brick in it. Never seen that before....good thing the Viper with an assault rifle couldn't fill her with holes before she got close enough TO HIT HIM WITH HER PURSE. I was REALLY expecting some consequences, something at least to show what both sides have to pay....but alas, Sean is rescued, Tunnel-Rat seems to be fine, and everyone is just hunky-dory....except for the hundreds of COBRA troopers who were slaughtered by some guys in some tour buses....... Cobra Commander and Dr. Mindbender are useless, and make this "terrorist" organization seem like a laughing stock. |

I enjoyed the issue for the most part and the full page concept was cool. Good, fun art.
But I agree that the story could have had a better conclusion. It would have been SO much better if Cobra figured out that Snakes Eyes isn't Snake Eyes and there was a consequence resulting from that. Also, I can't pinpoint it, but I feel like there's a certain wokeness to ARAH these days that is beginning to bother me. Last edited by stopdead; 11-18-2020 at 03:24 PM.. |

I just wanted some actual story or progression of a story. All we got was Joes mowing down COBRAs. This 10 issue arc was hyped to show every Joe, and I’m pretty sure that didn’t happen. It was to lead up to an epic conclusion with a milestone issue # (275), and that didn’t happen. All the arc gave us was a few cool shots of Joes boarding/riding on buses, Throwdown doing lots of flips and killing Cobras in tunnels/security tunnels, CC showing no backbone (nor Sean, or else he would’ve put a slug in CC’s head) and more characters risen inexplicably from the dead.
I get that we’re all older now and have lost the way we saw things when we were younger, Larry included. But, I look back at issues #26 through about #57...and man, for the most part, those were excellent. That’s the Joe universe I picture in my head. Good pencils, good editing....AMAZING story. I credit Larry with that. And Rod Whigham—man, I would love to see him return to do a few issues. Sorry to rant.....just my take. Yo Joe! |
