If you are on this site you are a dedicated Joe fanatic. Beyond collecting the old toys, you can help keep the only currently available ARAH product on the shelves. Not only that, you can keep the chain going and directly support one of the original Joe creators- Larry Hama.
The ARAH title is available at your local comic shop and on digital. An easy way to make sure you get the paper title (which goes very well with your plastic figures) is start a pull list at your local shop. They will be happy to do it. How much will supporting Hama put you back? ARAH currently has a cover price of $48. Often, a shop will give your a 20-25% discount on a pull list book. So you are looking at $36-$48 per year Joe goodness. (May I also recommend Marvel True Believers? Every month there are slew of $1 reprint issues related to some new comic crossover Marvel is promoting. They are a great bargan, often key issues, and fun to read without worrying about the condition of the book). This site can help you find your local comic shop: https://www.comicshoplocator.com/Art...cal-Comic-Shop Buy Hama! Yo Joe! |

I buy every issue of GI Joe to support the line as long as the book isn't total crap like the Sitterson series which I had to drop with how goofy it got. But even if everyone on this forum bought it who wasn't already, it wouldn't make a huge dent. It took a publicized event like the Dawn Moreno storyline to get GI Joe to those numbers.

I have every ARAH from the IDW run in *digital* form. I haven't bought a physical comic in over a decade. Are digital purchases counted in the circulation numbers?

I buy Hama ARAH. It's on my pull list and will be as long as he keeps writing it, God help me.

If I am correct, they do not count. I'm pretty sure I've seen discussions elsewhere on the internet where people complain about digital sales numbers being kept secret on comics. If that is the case, then it is probably why a comic with only 5,000 physical sales can still be published. It very well may sell 10k or more depending on how many people buy digitally.

I have Hama's ARAH on an online subscription. It is posted to me every month for £3.30 in the UK. Best way to do it nowadays. Now I never miss an issue.

It's a comic series so nothing the writers do usually affects me. I actually enjoy each writer's take in that respect. I buy all the titles because I love G.I. JOE and have since I was little. Can't afford or have space for all the different covers, though it doesn't bother me because they're usually included in the TPBs.
