Another great issue IMHO. I really do enjoy the sci-fi elements that Larry brings into ARAH and I think it's why the non-Hamaverse reboots never seem to work for me or the general buying public. My only complaint about this issue is it features yet another pinup cover as opposed to referencing the action inside. I understand that there are solicitations to consider, but it drives me nuts nonetheless.
Great artwork from Netho Diaz. He's probably my favorite all-time ARAH artist, though I'll always have a soft spot for Whigham and Wagner. This issue is bittersweet for me as it is Diaz's last issue (at least for a while) and I've never been an Atkins fan but I'm a glass half full kind of guy so I'm hopeful that I'll be pleasantly surprised. Thank you, Netho, for giving us one heckuva run. You deserve all the success in the world and maybe if we're lucky we'll see you gracing the ARAH pages again this time next year! |

Thank you for the kind words! I hope to be back later even for a spin-off or something.
Also, my cover represents that Cobra is spying Sean. You guys will understand what the heck was that red circle on #266. Was not a aleatory pinup. )) If i get lucky, I’ll be back! Thank you all for the support and the kind words for 12 issues! |

Agreed. If its a money saving thing, I guess there's an argument to be made by going with Atkins, but if it isn't the money I think IDW and Tom Waltz are bat s**t crazy to let Diaz go. ARAH has *never* looked better.

I got a kick out of the editor blunders in the letters page. Just wait Tom, more are coming, lol.

Oops, one more. Stormavik’s name is misspelled this issue.

The preview looks pretty good. Someone needs to take the grey paint bucket away from the colorists though, he is killing the dynamism of the art. He also does not understand the planar aspect of coloring comics. Even though he is not using flat colors, everything is "flat" whereas the colors should reinforce the depth in the art (which you are doing a fine job illustrating). Maybe he should practice coloring in flat colors to learn how to do this correctly.
For the sake of your art, please recommend J. Brown study Christie Scheele to learn how it should be done. She was the master of using K tones (cmyK). Even when using a greyed pallete, one can still have vibrant temperature and value differences, evermoreso with current coloring technology. Any Hellboy illustrated by Mignola would also be very instructive, he is a tyrant on his colorists and he is a true master. Maybe IDW pays a crushingly low page rate and no one cares?

Exactly. Does it even matter what happens in this series anymore? A big event next issue could just be randomly undone in 50 issues....
I love ARAH and always will, but c’mon...somebody from IDW needs to address it. I half expect the OG to rendezvous with Sneak-Peek so he can die a third time. |

I have just accepted the Oktober Guard revival (do I have a choice?). I can live with Revanche, but it doesn't excite me. Once again the highlight for me was Low light. I also enjoyed seeing Lightfoot. I get a kick in seeing characters I haven't seen for awhile get some air time. Scarlett's reaction to Sean's birthday was interesting. It might be time for her to get a life separate from the Joes.
