Yeah, this would be a tough one to answer without saying more than I want to, at this time. I will say this: my personal favorites are less important than which characters are best for the story. I'm writing this book to deliver a fantastic GI Joe comic, not to offer fan-service to myself, you know?

Wondering what the motor pool involvement will be? Will Cobra have Terror Dromes, also how expansive will vehicles be on the Joe side considering they're leading a resistance? Or will the battles and story be more espionage/infiltration geared? It seems like it is taking place after GI Joe lost the battle and Cobra reigns supreme. Did this battle essentially involve the entire line of vehicles/action figures?

Great initiative and nice slag on Action Force. Seeing a scooter front and center on the promo shot gives me doubts about the series, but I hope to be proven wrong. If it can match the quality of our own Initiative DioStory, I’d be well pleased. Good luck and break a leg.

***SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD***
Okay, so here's the deal: I mentioned in an earlier answer that I know where many characters are, even if we don't get to them right away. And Zandar and Zarana fall into that category! When we get to them, I think you'll be very happy. Also, here's a tantalizing tidbit: by the end of issue #5, you should have all the clues you need to surmise where they and and what they're doing.

This is amazing! We're getting a ZANDAR figure! ZANDAR featured prominently in the Cobra Commander series! Character development! It's a great time to be a Zandar fan! Thank you, Hasbro!!! |

Oh, great question. So, kind of both. We're going to have a core team that includes both existing characters and a couple of new ones. But in addition to that, we're going to be pulling players off the very deep bench.
I want this to be a comic where there's no character who HAS to be in every issue. We're also doing a lot of standalone issues, so that gives us greater ability to cut away to other Joes, other Cobra agents, other parts of the world. I've been giving a lot of thought to where certain character are in this world. So I already know, for example, where Recondo is and what he's doing, and I know that's going to be an awesome story, when we catch up to him and his glorious mustache. I also want it to be a book where you go to pick up this month's issue and it could be like, "oh, this issue is focused entirely on the Oktober Guard, with no Joes in it!" Or "this is an all-flashback issue!" Or, "This is an issue about... Barbecue? Huh. Okay, that's a choice." Basically, since this is a fresh new continuity with no tie-in books, we're just gonna do whatever the heck we want to do, while making sure that we're putting out a high-quality comic with a compelling story, month after month. But that's all kind of down the line. The first arc will be focusing on our core team, before we start to expand. Just getting ahead of myself because I'm excited, haha.

Thank god. Love Mr Hama to death but when ARAH goes all ninja-heavy I pretty much check out until it gets interesting, (for me anyway), again.

Sooooo...we all get a sneak peek free digital download of issue #1, right?!
The teasers you've mentioned sound good enough. I'd pick it up, but have all sorts of troubles getting to any comic store, nowadays. Are traditional print subscriptions available? I've bugged IDW about this, via their website, for awhile now. I know digital copies are the better, long-term, easier-to-store, solution...but I still prefer printed/press copies of my "core" titles (which are only GI Joe and Avengers).

Psst...Its ok because he lied, he can't be cool AND collect toys;)
I back read most of the comments and questions and this book already sounds more promising the some previous titles. While most of what I would have asked has been answered. I should probably just get this out of the way now so.... Do you intend to push any of your own personal or political agends??
