Short Preview here:
https://www.idwpublishing.com/produc...ican-hero-263/ Larry Hama posted on Facebook that this was the hardest issue of GI Joe he has ever written. From what I gather, no one dies, but the dead are remembered... and grieved. Gotta get emotionally ready for this one. |

I wonder if he’ll reveal SE’s name on the Vietnam Wall?

Damn. For most others Vietnam is just a footnote in history now... I'm old enough to remember when Americans started taking pride again that they served in it. I was so proud of my dad growing up for doing his duty for his country...

If you've ever visited the Vietnam Memorial, you know it is a very sobering experience, even if you don't personally know someone who died over there.
Overall, a good issue, though I will always wish that Breaker and Doc lived, and their inferior replacements, Dial Tone and Lifeline, bought it instead. Lastly, the tribute to Snake Eyes by Scarlett and Timber (or his progeny) was very subdued. Even though there was a casket in the Death of Snake Eyes storyline, do we know that his body was retrieved from the Pit? Heck, if there was one it could have been Serpentor's body. If you can't tell, I want the real Snake Eyes back some day. |

I was hoping for some stories being told by Joes about their fallen brothers. Instead we got a partial name list word balloon followed by two pages of Duke talking about himself and laughing about how he declared himself in charge of everyone at a funeral. What a dick.

Some of those names on the wall. Trimpe. Springer. A few other notable artists from the old days. Marie Severin. Did she pass too?
Didn’t expect to see their names. But very well deserved. And that hit kinda hard. |

I'm sure it wasn't intentional. That is just my joking take on it.
