The current writer from IDW's GI JOE comic has been on a tear again on social media. This time aiming his douchebaggery at people not in NYC that mourn the event s on Sept 11. Both General Joes and and YoJoe.com have decided to boycott coverage his work. I think we should stand together with them. I could never state so eloquently how they put it so I will just link to the article posted on both of these websites.
G.I. Joe comics from IDW Publishing are at a crossroads | Generals Joes – A blog about the importance (or unimportance) of little plastic men https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater I emailed IDW.

Yep. He can go back to writing for WW-whatever, and the comics can be written by... Well... Literally anybody, at this point. *shrug*

As a survivor, fuck this guy. That's all I have to say about that. That's all the attention I'm gonna give this douchenozzle. He's not worth the effort.

While entirely insensitive, don't we all have coworkers that have less than rosey personalities and or mainstream thoughts/beliefs? Let's not can IDW for one persons choice to share those thought/beliefs with everyone via social media, however idiotic that may be. He's just a guy who has thoughts/beliefs that run counter to many others. It's not like our day to day world isn't full of a holes. Most just have the courtesy not to do so in public. Who am I kidding, it's pretty much the norm these days. I do not agree with his sentiments but I don't have to. F.l. Wright was by all accounts a real prick to deal with but one of americas greatest architects. Not everyone is a nice person, doesn't make them necessarily less of a person. We as in the general crowd play a part in this as well with the common insistence or compulsion to throw in our two cents there by poking the bee hive and all gather to watch the insuing mess.
I'm in DC, I remember those events clearly. It was a national tragedy shared by all Americans. Not everyone experienced it or has dealt with it the same way so there is that as well. He's just one man... you don't have to care for him or even like him really. From a larger perspective, it far less worse than what some in much more important jobs are doing on a daily/weekly basis on social media. Let's douse the fires and put away the pitch forks. I'm sure he will have to deal with the consequences of his actions as he rightly should.

I don't want to get into politics but again, the guy is a self avowed socialist who compared Lincoln to Marx in a positive way.
That's kind of outside of mainstream US thought. I would say that as long as it doesn't come into the writing but when you have a team leader basically say "we're not American anymore" it seems to be bleeding in. |

Oh, and he's a self-proclaimed Socialist. That's all I needed to see. Words cannot express my disgust at this piece of filth. Everything I found out after that was par for the course.
And I'll remember 9/11 any goddamned way I want, because I was loading up on an aircraft with a rifle and a rucksack within 24 hours of the event, you Commie piece of shit. Oh, no- you were at ground zero! I was telling my family "I don't know what's going on, when I'll be back, or anything- but I love you and I will write you a letter". The sooner the Comics industry purges these Alt-Left, Marx-stroking, Moral authoritarians the better off we will be. Sales are in the shitter, and rightfully so. These sorts have done nothing but project their personal ideals into comics and call everyone a bigot because they disagree or just want to enjoy a goddamned comic book and not a sociopolitical sermon. If they're not calling you a name for disliking their work, they're personally instigating fights with people on their Twitter or Social Media. Don't give the comic industry another red cent until they straighten this shit out. Oh, edit- scroll down his Twitter and you'll see he supports Antifa. People who support domestic terrorism shouldn't be writing GI Joe. Last edited by Baron Samedi; 09-13-2017 at 09:20 AM.. |

I was in NYC on 9/11, but I didn't enlist after and neither did Aubrey. Most of the kids who were hurt and died came from all over the U.S., and guess what, they're still enlisting to fight in that war. Soon kids who weren't even born then will be sent to fight in Afghanistan.
GI Joe should be for those kids, those patriots and heroes, as well as heroes like my grandparents, father and uncle, who all served and fought in America's wars. Hasbro and IDW needs to do some soul-searching because GI Joe has lost its moral compass. Ironic that AS's 9/11 comments were made just after Hama released an issue that was a throwback to the way the "crown jewel" is supposed to be. Also, we're America. We're not supposed to have "Crown Jewels," just a Constitution and a Flag. (No one ever died for a typewriter.) |

Aubrey Sitterson: "So, coming out of the First Strike event, we thought it made sense for the name of the book to speak to the nature of the team. Don’t worry though—the reception to our unique take on G.I. Joe has been amazing, so there are no plans to stop giving you the bombastic, sci-fi-action-packed character drama that you deserve!"
https://www.pastemagazine.com/articl...nto-a-new.html I don't know, guys. It looks like G.I. JOE is doing fine? |

What kind of company hires someone who says this?
If I posted something like this in any civilian job I held, I would be looking for work in 24 hours. AND NOT FINDING ANY. |
