First off, I'm not sure how I feel about this particular issue.
Dr. Venom is "alive" again inhabiting Dr. Mindbender's body. Snake-Eyes is "alive" inhabiting Dawn's body. This is all thanks to the "magic" of the Brainwave Scanner. Fun moment: Venom is amazed by Mindbender's gaudy uniform and monacle, and quickly changes out of it and shaves. He also obtains a wig from one of the C.G. Freds. Buzzer is driving the Thunder Machine. Why? Did Thrasher have to take a dump? Thanks to Zartan and a massive switcheroo, Cobra Commander believes that the original Snake-Eyes is dead. As usual, Cobra Commander is shown to be completely incompetent, while Destro and the Baroness are shown to be superior in every way. Note: Destro refuses to change his scarred mask, though he possesses many different ones, including the gold one. Though Flint is shown hurt on the front cover, it is actually Sneak-Peek who is in mortal danger. Roadblock and Spirit are told that he died during his operation by Flint and Lady Jaye, but this "death" happens off-screen and something tells me that he just wants to live a "peaceful life" with his revolutionary girlfriend, Katya (or a secret revolutionary life in Darklonia?). Letters page: Once again Hama forgets his own continuity when a letter writer asks why Dr. Biggles-Jones has become a Cobra agent, when she previously was a secret agent sent to infiltrate Cobra. He says he didn't write it, so it's not in his continuity. However, he did write it and it is in his continuity. Last edited by seaneley; 06-28-2017 at 02:03 PM.. |

Hama did indeed write those issues, but Biggles-Jones was not a double agent, Scarlett was posing as one. Jones decided that if a machine could be a hero so could she and that is why she turned herself in to Megatron who flew away with her. Somehow she wound up back on Earth working secretly with the Black Major.
I wonder if Hama was bluffing or if he was trying not to point out the letter writer's "error". I too wonder if Sneak Peek is really gone and one tell tale sign is that Lady Jaye was weeping. That could be for two reasons, either he really did die, or she was overcome by the romantic nature of the situation. Katya was crying also. Hama has been showing women as very strong lately, it goes a little against the grain but she could have been faking too.

In #141, Look at the conversation between Dr. B-J and Scarlet in the Millville hospital and then Hawk's gripe on page 20. Dr. B-J was a double agent. [Spoiler Alert for a 25 year old comic ahead.] Dr. B-J makes it back to Earth in TFG2 #2 when Spike Witwicky/Fortress Maximus sacrifice themselves to allow Arielbot Air Raid to rescue the double agent. The issue concludes with Dr. B-J and Scarlet giving each other a hug.
That and the the "Then you're really" It does show that Hama forgot again then.

Correct! She was indeed a double agent, and Larry did indeed receive writing credit . Maybe he had a ghost writer? Doubt it. Anyway, I though the issue was a lot more fun than the previous 70. But that reply in the letters page soured me. Again, where is the editor to keep stuff like this in line?
