Like i have said before the IDW Cobra series was what i wanted to read as this age i have now. We have ARAH if we want to indulge our inner 10 year old and that's not bad at all, i like those stories and the new ones made by Larry Hama. But this was a different, more adult take, more risky, and given the way the whole joe/cobra thing was first built in the IDW continuity, being Cobra a secret organization, CC a title not a person, the joes another totally secret unit ruled by a ruthless hawk was really good stuff, was a new ground where to build things, maybe it was too much for joe fans but for that there was the main gijoe series. Sadly editorial mishandling killed the third volume of this series wich could have been a good continuation of what was setup in the first two volumes.

Yeah I agree everyone should read the Cobra series. However I am just going to repeat what everyone else has already posted. I got confused with the order. Then when I tried to catch up i realized I bought some of the same issues just different covers. That's annoying. I got confused also with the characters who were indistinguishable from each other but the Threat Matrix, Siren Song and Fall of GIJoe is pretty good. special Missions was good too.
I recently caught back up with Hamaverse IDW. Blue Ninjas got old but he's back on track and I will always remain loyal. The transformers crossover is terrible. But Bravo Destro for trying to breathe life into the comics. They are as important as the toys in some respects. Now if we can just add new characters to the Joeverse that will turn into Figures. That was part of the excitement of yesteryear. New never before seen characters as figures is what had me coming back for more. Whem Ripcord and Lady Jaye showed up to replace Scarlet and Grunt (thankfully they never really did) i was happy to see new faces. Issue #11 with a new cast expansion helped keep the interest. Even Hama has taken to add characters he previously overlooked like Dogfight and Skystriker.

I've only been reading Hama-verse since issue 188, love it! Brings out the kid in me. Love the gritty Traviss-verse, for the adult(ha) in me. I know not of the Cobra series, except leftovers issues in my local shops. I do have the hc Last Laugh, loved it too. The new Snake-Eyes Agent of Cobra, not too much, glad its short.

GI Joe: Cobra is still ongoing? I thought it had ended? I just bought vol 1 and 2 TPB's of The Cobra Files. If there is more after that I'm truly happy, it's the favorite of my Joe series to date.

What I love most about GI Joe:Cobra was how they took relatively minor characters and made such a great story. It was just a great read, real enough to be gritty and edgy while still being the GI Joe I love. Chuckles quickly became one of my all time favorite Joes after I read it.

I tried and it didn't do anything for me. I binge read ARAH every few months but that's about it

I picked up G.I. Joe Cobra II recently in the bargain bin of a local comic shop for $ 1 a piece (along with some other Joe titles). It's a decent read. To me it's not so much a G.I. Joe story as it is a Chuckles story. It's more of a side quest/side story for Chuckles than a true Joe story for me. It reads more like a spy novel (similar to James Bond) than a military/action comic. It wasn't bad, but I can see why it didn't do well not just among Joe fans, but among comic book fan lovers in general.

Ive read all joe titles. The Hama-verse is my fav. 2nd fav was the Dixon/Atkins combo. Asked Dixon at Megacon last weekend why that volume ended. He said Hasbro cut the cord. Said he had the story written for the joes to reverse engineer a device to get to the Cobra moon base. I've got the original pencils for the last page of issue #27
