This thread is to be used by HISSTANK.com members to discuss the IDW launch of Cobra Files and we ask that only those who have actually read the book to comment in this thread. We will be doing a special thread for each issue for members who read comics.

Thanks Destro! I enjoyed it. Since I jumped on to IDW late I've only read Vol 1 of Cobra, I still need 3 or 4 issues of Vol 2. I saw that because it seemed like this was much more of a continuation of the storyline than a reboot. I do like how Costa used the shrink in the beginning to explain some of what has been happening. Only thing I was confused about and wanted a little more info on was Tomax. But I'll get that reading Vol 2. A secret base in a casino was a cool idea.
I was excited to see Copperhead and then initially surprised he died so fast , but that is what Costa does and I like that. Only thing I wish was for that scene to really be tense. Either Costa and Fuso didn't communicate the flinch of the worst that made Chameleon kill him was some movement to attack or she has a quick trigger finger from PTSD. Either way, I thought if you were gonna shoot him before you get any info out of him then it should have been a bigger threat. I also liked the ominous foreshadowing about Flint's future health with Chameleon hooking up with him and her saying everyone she has been with is dead. Almost a subconscious violent move toward him. Seeing Billy was another surprise and I'm excited to see where thay leads. Oh and Tomax is becoming quite that character in Cobra Files. What do you guys think?

Love the book. Cobra really hasn't rebooted just gotten different volumes. There was a rough patch after Chuckles killed Cobra Commander, but I think it is very much back in the game. I enjoy Chameleon as a character. I am ready for a Chameleon/Baroness confrontation.
I don't know where this comes into play, but Cobra Commander has for some reason become a non entity. I am ready for him to become a factor again. Love Billy. Glad he is back. I'd love to the see the tease of former Cobra Commanders. Not sure when or who teased it, but I think it sounds interesting. |

I hadn't thought about the "other" Cobra Commanders but I think that sounds like a cool story, would definitely like to read that.

This was a well written issue, but Fuso HAS to go. As Doomsun said, he doesn't convey the action properly and sometimes you have to guess what just happened.
A great jumping on point, and I think I'll enjoy this series.

Bought this for the Whalen cover and will stick with Hama's comic.
Too shadowy in terms of art and psychological in terms of narrative. Kind of depressing overall. Not bad, just not for me. |

Loved it. I like that they dont go for the over the top action thrills and simmer more in suspense and espionage. I don't have any problem with the art. The "flinch" would have been hard to depict but I understood what happened. I liked that instead of going for some long drawn out gunfight with Copperhead they chose to pull the emotion strings instead.
