Despite myself, I quite enjoyed this. It's fresh and fun, with some sly humor throw in. "G.I.oe toys?"
While I would have preferred a more tactical and less sci-fi look for the good guys, it's nice to see classic Cobra hardware still in use - The Maggot has always been one of my favorites. The racial commentary didn't bother me at all, and I say that as a biracial Asian/white mutt. I don't consider this "cannon", and I expect the Special Missions and new Cobra books will give us more of the grittiness we have come to expect from IDW. |

I'm a lurker here and I just got done reading this issue and I have mixed feelings about it. I hated it initially but by the end I was into it a little. Like everyone else, I can't stand Hashtag. I do wish it were less like a cartoon and more realistic. I don't know how they survived that plane being shot down, except for Windmill.
I'm reading the Dixon comics now and does this new reboot have anything to do with that continuity at all? It seems like this is a totally new universe. Also, does anyone know if the Special Missions comics and the Chameleon comics are going to be apart of the Dixon continuity? All these comics are kinda confusing! |

Van lente embraces Joe's 49 year franchise and kurth draws the toys well. Some characters need revamps but some already look cool. This book was entertaining. I found most of Dixon's tales boring and empty. Cobra and a real American hero rock! I am actually excited what van lente has in store for us.

IDW's continuation of Marvel and Hama's classic continuity continues AND is utilizing more modern toys. It outsells Transformers but needs more readers and letter hacks. [email protected] re:postbox:the pit. this canon is more than a fad, let's proove it. |

I've enjoyed the first two in terms of characterization and art, as well as action.
Not really sure about some of the new uniforms. Why on Earth does Duke look like a refugee from "Xanadu"? There was utterly NOTHING wrong with he good 'ol bandolier and jump wings. "Updating" isn't always necessary. I hope they sort of ease them back into a few things over time. |
