Be careful of what you use as a reference............
Fantastic Four (2005) - Movie Info - Yahoo! Movies Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) - Movie Info - Yahoo! Movies INDIANA JONES on Yahoo! Movies Spider-Man 3 (2007) - Movie Info - Yahoo! Movies Aligned with your reference, not exact ally in the best of company, just to name a few. |

It'll struggle to get $140m domestically and $330 worldwide. On the Boxofficemojo comparisons it's tailing off compared to F4 and the foreign take is a lower proportion although there will be some lag.
It's box office take wouldn't stimulate a sequel, but pressure from Hasbro would swing it. EDIT - whoops! Checked BOM - the figure I had in my head I meant to say $330 'G.I. Joe' Vs. Similar Summer Action Movies 'G.I. Joe' Vs. Similar Summer Action Movies It's doing better than Wanted, worse than F4, but slowing down faster than either. |

To you it Star Wars wasn't... 60k people voted on Yahoo to average at a B. Sounds like to them it was good.

Still beating it is: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Up The Hangover Star Trek Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs X-Men Origins: Wolverine even Terminator Salvation! So if you consider number 9 out of maybe 10 big summer releases as a win, sure. |

But I guess if you hate the movie, you will always find a reason to demean it's success - no matter how small a victory - to make yourself feel like you were right to hate RoC.

And just because you think a movie isn't good doesn't mean it isn't good, that's the beauty of opinions. According to Yahoo, which is all the guy was pointing out, plenty of people thought ROC was better than average. I honestly don't think they care how well it's doing in the box office, only nerds like us arguing over it do.

And I millions, what's the point? 60k is still a decent sample size, they use less in political polls, much less, and they tend to be pretty accurate.
And again, you're arguing semantics of opinion, which truthfully, there are none. Each person can have one completely different from someone else. Doesn't make one better than another.

ROC on the merits of being a movie in my opinion was not a very good film. On the merits of being a GI JOE film...... I love it. Not very hard to understand. With that said, I also do not ignore facts and the fact is I was replying to the statement......the month in which the film was released is irrelevant...... it has been for quite sometime. August is not the dumping ground for bad films it once was..... do research and you will become enlightened! |
