The first mistake is only putting her name on the list.
This should never be done, even when it is family. As much as people love their family and don't want to think their family could ever use them, you still can't trust your family, no matter how close you all are.

that sucks!!! sometimes life lessons can be expensive. never sign co sign or lend your name to no one especially family. i love my brother and sisters but they all know unless your living on the streets, dieing or dead do not call me. i have lent money before(i never tell them i'm giving it to them in the event that they do pay me back which they haven't which i know they wont) everyone gets once so if i've "lent" to them before they know not to ask again

Sounds like a cheap way for your Fiancee to learn her lesson, she needs to learn somehow.

your future brother-in-law isn't even bright enough to know that the only recourse would actually be beneficial to your fiance. actually, encourage he call. but tell him to make sure all of his own funiture and belongings aren't removed first so he has proof. |

Good luck with that! He has no claim, the lease is in your fiance's name. Tell your fiance to get rid of any of their items (preferably into the trash if you ask me) and then he has no proof that she's subletting her apt. If your fiance issued no written contract to her sister or bf then it's her word against his.

I'm currently assisting family in evicting a (non-family) renter from property. We were very patient but we have a buyer for the property now and he is a little over $7000 behind in payments...so it is time to go. My family was almost a year more patient than I would have been.
Thank God you aren't doing an eviction, it won't be pretty, will take months, and probably be no good for the house. |

I feel your pain man,I have a,imho, worthless, lazy poor excuse of an adult sister in law, well actually thats how I feel about most of my in-laws,not just her. The reason why she pisses me off so much is because my wife and her a very close which means I have to see and deal with her and her rowdy uncivilized kids so much. The worst part is,we are moving just a few minutes away from them.

Unfortunately I will have to agree with this...This kind of stuff will be regular in your life when you are married.

When they say in the vows, "for better or for worse," well, this is one the things they mean by "worse."
Ewww... I wish you well with this. |
