Anyone notice how Gen Hawk was wearing a Brown Leather Jacket like his 90 version Toy... If they came out with that version I may add him to the joe Army but the 25th version is so nice....

One of the things I noticed that nobody else has mentioned was one of The Doctor's lines from the movie. "The Joes will never know what hit them" I really liked that line and it sounded a lot like something the 80s cartoon Cobra Commander would say. In fact whenever he referred to them as "The Joes" in general felt like a throwback to the classic CC.

StephenSommers.com says that a dog bowl with "Timber" on it can be seen in The Pit's rec room, but I couldn't spot it. Will look for it again next time.

Homages?
Oh, you guys mean things that have already been pretty central to the Joe mythos and should have been in a GI Joe movie anyway? |

This is a bit of a stretch, perhaps, but during the underwater battle scene when the camera pans back and you can see all the Joe subs fighting the MARS subs, it reminded me of "The MASS Device" when they were retrieving the Heavy Water and the worms came out. I got a kick out of it, anyway.
